I just wanted to congratulate our dear breeder Ingrid on the
outstanding performance of the Grausturm dogs at Melbourne Royal and
the Open and Championship Shows of the Weimaraner Club of Victoria.
Huge congrats also to the "pilots" - Liesl Albion and Maree Pledger.
Irena,
proudly owned by my very own Grausturm baby (BISS/LV/LT/EST JCH
Grausturm Love Is A Drug, BH, Retriever Excellent (IMP.AUST.)
That is the question that a journalist put to the readers of Dog World
in the UK when he suggested that my longhaired bitch (which he called
brilliant) was the most accomplished and versatile dog of any breed to
date in the UK!
This was on September 1st so I await to see if there is any
competition!
I have to modify the original post. She is the third Weimaraner in
the UK to pass the KC WGC preliminary stage, the second bitch and
first longhair.
Thanks for the congrats though.

Hi everyone,
I have had an enquiry for a LH puppy, but have nothing planned. I have not
looked into them, or asked any questions of the people, just so that you will
have to do that bit.

Just saw the results for the Brisbane Royal, and thought I would
post them. Sorry I didn't get the judge, or the owners/breeders, but
several are list members. Congratulations to all connections. Hope
to see you up there myself next year, just be somewhere warm, if for

Thanks Deb, you and Caron always were optimists!
Now I do have someone worth watching....not a longhair, but nobody's perfect.
At least she is the daughter of one. About 3/4 Sinaway, 1/4 Grausturm. This
little person, who I was just starting out with luring into a sit, well, at 10
WEEKS she worked out both the verbal cue and hand signal from watching Lara! She
knows both together, and seperately, and if she even hears the word 'sit' in a
conversation, that tiny little bum hits the floor! Her name is Willow (Willow
Wambat) and she is going to change some people's attitude to Weimaraners in the
trial ring. You would not believe some of the things people say about these
dogs!! I don't know what happened. How did they go from being considered wonder
dogs and virtually human, to being seen as scatterbrains and almost impossible
to train or control?? Maybe it is because people are not doing much more than
showing anymore, or people who breed for temperament are getting fewer and
fewer. It is nice to see that a lot of the
Dual Ch are longhairs!! VBG!!

Caron and Deb, DO NOT hold your breath! While she is brilliant, but she

it's 'no work, no pay'. Lara doesn't believe me. She has never taken the weaning

Well, it more like she's the shop steward! I don't think that she will ever get

Wow, what a weekend! Congratulations Ingrid, Leisel, Irena and her fiance Fred.
And Congratulations to Deb and Karl. Surely longhairs winning three classes in
group on the one weekend has to be a record?! And two at the one show??
Goodness, judges actually looking right the way to the end of the group line up!
Who would have thought it?
I have the very smallest of brags......on Sunday our girl Lara passed her
Competition Day test in Obedience, from Advanced to Transition, so it's trailing
next. Anyone who knows Lara will know just how incredibly
stubborn.....um....'full of character'........she is, and what a miracle that
was! Of course it was not without incident. During the three minute down stay,
she thought the sun felt lovely, and rolled over onto her side in the sun and
had a little snooze. At the end of the exercise when I walked back to her, she
just lay there wagging the very end of tail! But she stayed there!
If you speak to her not as nicely as she expects, she refuses to do anything
at all until you appologise and speak nicely to her. When I said that to the
instructor, she said that I shouldn't appologise and speak nicely, after all,
she was a dog. I explained she was not a dog, she was a Weimaraner,(and a LH at
that!!) but the poor woman just didn't understand. But then you couldn't really
expect her to. After all, she has Cocker Spaniels. LOL
