Buck babies true although Grady who took state bred in group is the
spitting image of his mum Ch grausturm eye othstorm - she's the pic
at front of this site. Daisy his sister is a lot more like buck.
She's at brisbane royal today - wish she had her mums coat though!!!
Latest news Misty's daughter Cloud Grausturm Hearts Afire took best
of breed and Best intermediate in group yesterday at her first show
back in Tas. She has put on a lot more weight and muscle since she
is back and has been racing around every day hunting the birds. She
is starting to look really fit. I think she is starting to give
kimba a run for her money. Liesl my middle one has been doing a lot
of work getting her to run with her head up and Maree took her in
the ring for this show. Unfortunately runner up in show was from
intermediate, can you believe the bad luck!

Thank God someone decided to post something. my computer crashed 2 weeks ago,
finally got it fixed, but lost all my favourites including the address of this
group, and just could'nt find it anywhere, so have been waiting for someone to
post anything. Sorry to hear you had such a bad time, so you only had 2
survivors? Its amazing how quickly you get used to that tail by the way, we have
a new little boy with a tail and apart from accidentally closing it in the gate
once, and a couple of close calls with doors, we hardly notice it. Just hope he
does'nt start curling it up over his back like a basenji. Saw one doing that at
the Qld wei show couple of weeks ago,Yuck! Well I'm off to look at your photos
now, and might try posting some of our awesome new Remy.Bye for now Ruth.

Hi all,
Been off the air for a while. We had three all breeds shows and a
Gundog specialty a little while back. Our boy Phantom was Res CC at
all 4, I think, & then RuBOB at 3 (?) I think. Our girl Zed was only
in the gundog show and was Res CC and may have been RUBOB. Don't I
keep good records! The Res CC and RUBOB is a bit of a bugger of a
win, isn't it? You beat all but one other dog, & get bugger all. We
were there with two breeds and did nothing with either. Been like
that since April. I did say at the time that after DCC at the Royal
and then BOB, IIS and short listed for BIS at Southern Gundog, and
Baby in show at a Terrier specialty on the same day was our bit for
the whole year, bit did the good lord have to take me so literally??
LOL ;)
Today we are sitting, watching snow falling, watching and waiting
for our first litter of Syrinx babies. What do you think
of 'Snowball's Chance' for a name? AND the prefered spot seems to
be MY side of the bed! BUGGER! Ive just bought our others, Zed and
Scarlett and Guy the Wheaten, back to the house as it's too cold and
wet out. Guy (AKA the Hairy Monster) is SOAKED to the skin, muddy,
looks like something that the RSPCA would want to rescue, certainly
not a show dog! Too silly to get out of the rain. Mind you, the
girls are wet too. Are these really the same dogs who lie on the
lounge and shiver until you get the fire up higher? I think they
have been having me on!
I have been told that someone had a longhair baby at a show here in
Canberra the other week. We were entered, but had a 'Destructo-Dog'
Akita in at the kennels, and couldn't risk leaving Kim here on her
own. Now I wish I had just dropped in at the show to at least pick
up my catalogue.
Will let you all know about the pups. It will be a mixed litter. The
dad is our Phantom, Grausturm Ima Tassiedevil DCC at the Royal, mum
is our Lara, Ch Sinaway You Can Hope, BCC and RUBOB at the Royal.
And no, no names with a 'royal' theme. And they all have to be song
titles.
Wendy
(with freezing fingers!)
Hi all,
Thanks for the kind words Ruth. Glad to hear the boy has settled in well and
that Buck likes him. Like the name you picked for him. Did he winge all the
way home? Not surprised after getting his ear tattooed and a microchip then
being separated from his brothers and sisters. Must have been late night for
you guys after a big day. Lots and lots of pics please.

Hi all. We went to the Qld wei show yesterday, it was a very
interesting day, and good to see so many weis all at once. Lara came
first in her class and showed really well for Gary so we were pleased
with her, the judge said she was only beaten on age for the
challenge. Mo won his class and got reserve challenge dog, was lucky
to even get that far considering how badly he showed, he does'nt want
to do it now, and I don't care enough about showing to make him! More
interested in obedience for him now. We have never been to a
specialty show so I was very surprised whne his name was called at
the end when the trophies were being given out. They must have thought
I was a complete idiot when I said "what?, but he didnt get anywhere"
Apparently even reserve challenge gets a trophy and ribbon, and a
very nice ribbon it is too. The best part of the day was at the end
when we went to Carol Thompsons place to look at these puppies. We
were only looking, honestly, but he was just too beautiful, can't
believe he was'nt snapped up earlier. So we came home with the
shorthaired boy who is going to be called Remy. I must be
certifiable! 7 weis. But with Claudia gone Gary had nothing
shorthaired to show, and we really prefer boys. Buck likes him
already, so thats good, the others will get introduced gradually. I
love this pups personality, he did'nt cringe at all when Buck growled
initially, just looked at him. Well its no fun to growl at something
that does'nt react, so Buck has'nt done it again. Go Remy! Thanks so
much Carol, for trusting us with this gorgeous boy. Must get a USB
port on this computer now so I can post photos!
Hey ruth
Just joking that someone trained her I do believe you. I think you are right,
Kimba has stopped bothering retrieving now cos sash is so must competition on
the stick. Cloud is so smart she probably didnt bother either with all the
competition. I will be flabbergasted if she does swim I can tell you. She is a
lovely girl but very muddy tonite.

Hi everyone
check out our new girl. I put a photo of her on the site. She is a
shorthair but still she does carry the longhair gene. Her name is
Cloud Grausturm Hearts Afire. She just came back to us this weekend
and we are looking forward to seeing her in the ring.
She has a lovely nature and loves to fetch sticks and sleep on the
couch. I own her mum Misty and Misty has taken her back under her
wing.
Ingrid
Lovely pups
What a star your shorthair blue boy is!!!
Next I think I like no collar LH and pink LH and then black LH and
they are all close, then purple then red.
Looking forward to seeing them all grown up.
Cheers Ingrid
Very nice Carol. Just from the photos I like the black collar boy,
and the pink collar girl, but my favourite is the short haired boy.
What have you decided to keep? Ruth.
Thanks Allyson. Mo had his trial last weekend. he failed along with every one
else in novice, it was blowing a gale and all dogs performed badly. Mo would not
do his drops at all, and lagged a little on the heel free. he was O.K on his
recall, just lost a few points for hesitating, and his stands were perfect. he
WAS in second place in actual fact, until the stay excercises. His 1 minute sit
was fine, but he still did'nt want to drop. When he did he turned to face the lab
next to him because he did'nt like the german shepherd on the other side. I
should have left it at that, but NO I had to make him lie straight did'nt I. He
stayed there for about 5 seconds, I was so annoyed, even Jerri never broke a
stay.Guess it would have been alot worse if he had been on a qualifying score.
oh well theres another one next month.

as the dog may find that not focusing is more rewarding!
I specifically teach my dog and others to focus on the handler

If your dog is very easily distracted then it demonstrates that the

Thanks, any hints as to how to get him to concentrate would be good. He has the
ability to do every excercise to almost perfection, but can't concentrate for a
whole trial, he gets distracted by the smallest thing, kids yelling, birds
flying by e.t.c. I just wondered if I was going the wrong way about it trying
for the obedience title first.

I have a question for Allyson. I noticed you said obedience is the
next thing to add to Twiggys list of achievements. How did you get
her to do all that other stuff if you did'nt obedience train her
first? I'm only asking because I would like to do tracking with Mo,
but can't even get him to concentrate long enough to get through an
obedience trial yet.any thoughts would be appreciated.
Twiggy (aka Fursdon Twylyte Tramontano BH CDex UDex WDex TDex)has
qualified CDex UDex WDex TDex in Working Trials, winning all her
open trials (beating those pesky Border Collies and German
Shepherds) :D
She is also the first Weimaraner in the UK to qualify Begleithunde
in Schutzhund.
She has also been placed in gundog test of work, agility
competitions, has bronze, silver and gold Kennel Club Good Citizens
Test.
Twiggy is a registered PAT (Pets as Therapy) Dog as well and was the
first weimaraner to be invited to participate in the National
Superdog Competition (only 8 dogs invited from the whole country) we
came 6th.
She has also won at Open and Championship Shows and is Crufts
qualified for life.
Our next discipline is obedience I hope.
At the moment she is my only weimaraner, but I have had 3 others.
Hi Allyson... Wow ..how proud are you.. lets hope thy make it thru all the
processes and obedience they have to do to become a Guide dog.. I have
never heard of a weim being chosen for this.. Great news.. So tell us of all
of your exciting qualifications that your girl has... Also what other weims

Hi I am Allyson Tohmé found out about this group via Weimaraner
World.
I currently own one longhaired bitch who is the most highly
qualified weimaraner (LH or SH) in the UK.
The most exciting news is that her litter sister has just had two of
her puppies chosen by the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association; this
is the first time that a Weimaraner has been selected for this
purpose in the UK and as far as I am aware there have been no others
in the world?
regards

Hy Allyson,
Welcome here on the list.
I heard it about the Weimaraners who will be trained as Guide dogs.
So that is family of you that will be trained.
Our trainer here from the retrieving training works at the Blind association
here in Holland, so I heard it from him.

Hi Sylvia,
To put up pictures, you need to go to the home page of the group (the address is
at the bottom of each message) and set up an album. There are a few there
already of other members' dogs. The group is set up not to accept attachments
due to the risk of viruses.
