QUT are running a north-side mixed ultimate league on
Sunday afternoons starting this Sunday 26th March.

This is running alongside the Yeronga Beginners
League, providing you with north-side and south-side
options to play Ultimate this season.

The QUT mixed league is for students and non-students
alike. We're looking for people of all experience
levels to come and play so whether you're wanting
another opportunity to play ult during the week or
have never tried it - come along and bring your
friends!!

Details are:

WHEN: Sunday's 3pm - 5pm

WHAT:
* 2 Weeks of coaching clinic – Sunday 26th March &
Sunday 2nd April. An introduction to the throws and
the game.
* 8 week mixed league - Starts Sunday 9th April

WHERE: Kelvin Grove High School Oval, located next to
the QUT Kelvin Grove Campus.  The High School oval can
be accessed via Boundary Road, the road than runs up
beside the QUT fitness centre, car parking available.

WHAT TO BRING:

* yourselves
* your friends (you don't have to be a QUT student to
play in this league)
* a pair of running shoes or soccer boots
* water
* a white and dark shirt if you have them

COST:

* Coaching clinics FREE - no cost or obligation
* League - $22 per person for QUT students and QUDA
members
* $42 for non students (includes $20 for QUDA
membership)

QUDA membership gives you:
• A new frisbee
• Injury cover
• Membership of State and National Associations

Also we're looking for volunteers to help out with the
two coaching clinics so if you're available and can
spare a couple of hours please contact either Dustin

There is an Come and Try Day for frisbee at Teralba Park at Everton Park (near Brookside Shopping Centre) this Sunday between 8.30-10.30am, and I'm looking for ppl to come and help.

I need 2 other ppl to come and throw around, teach anybody that comes along and maybe play some games and golf - all good fun in their own right, but you get paid as well!!

Nothing to bring except your disc, hat, sunscreen, water bottle. No cleats, it's not that full-on.

I got the quote for the shirts, and they were more expensive than anticipated ($55 to get here by nationals, $45 for after nationals). I am going to pursue local options. If anyone has any shirt places they know (UQ shirts?) please let me know. I am planning to put in the same orders for the less expensive shirts (ie. same shirts sizes, same numbers). If you ONLY wanted a VC ultimate shirt, please let me know and I will take you off the list.

a few issues with the shirts. The special price is $22.95, not $17.95 and with the special offer, we will not get the shirts by Nationals (delivered by 15th May). For those of you not going to Nationals, the only issue is the $5 price rise.

For those going to nationals, they can get the shirts on time if we pay full price. This will be 30% more (I will get exact quote later), but I need to order TODAY. I think we still get them, as we need another strip anyway - so can everyone going to nationals please give me your shirt size and number ASAP!!!

This is the FINAL UPDATE for the Northern Australian Ultimate Championships.

WHAT: 2 day Ultimate Frisbee Tournament

WHERE: Kedron State High School, Park Rd, Kedron.

WHEN: Saturday 11 March [Games from 9:30 – 5:30]
Sunday 12 March 2006 [Games from 10:00 – 5:30]
People should try to arrive at 8:30 on Saturday

TRANSPORT: Carparking will be available on the street only. For a list of Public Transport options see attached (Location Map (with Trains))

DRAW: See attached (Regionals Draw V2)

COST: $40 for both days ($20 for one day only)

SHIRTS: Can all players ensure they bring both a Light and a Dark shirt

On March 11 and 12 Brisbane is hosting the Northern Australian
Ultimate Championships 2006.

This will be one of the largest men's tournaments in Brisbane this year.

There are already 4 teams registered (The Moreton Bay Bugs, DojoMojo,
'74 Flood and No Panda)

I have registered another Team - the Pick Up Team.

This team is open to ALL QLD MEN.

If you have been playing in the Brisbane Premier League this year (or
any year) this tournament is for you.

If you have been playing in the Yeronga Intermediate League, this
tournament is for you.

Tournaments are a great way to improve your ultimate and have fun at
the same time.

So what are the important details I sense you thinking?

place as BPL)

WHEN: Saturday 11 March and Sunday 12 March 2006

WHAT: A good weekend of Ultimate (approx. 5-6 games for the weekend)

The AGM of your state organisation is going to be held immediately after the Regionals games on Saturday, at the same venue. Around 5.30pm.

Come hear, and contribute to the group that are helping to take ultimate to the next level in Qld. We'll keep it pretty short from the admin point of view, and you might be surprised at what's being accomplished, and what's yet to come!

The usual supporter's reward of pizza will be freely available so you can re-carb after play, and prepare for the party.

Hello again all QLD Men.

As you should all know Brisbane is hosting the Northern Australian
Ultimate Championships this weekend.

The draw for the weekend is being finalised and will be sent out
shortly, but the game times are pretty much set:

Sat: First Game at 9:30am, Last Game finishes at ~ 5:30pm
Sun: First Game at 10:00am, Final finishes at ~ 5:30pm

Make sure you arrive at at least 9:00 on Saturday.

And remember that Saturday night there will be a party: UBER Bar,
Boundary St, West End - 8pm til late

Unfortunately we still cannot confirm the location of the tournament,
but this will happen late tonight or early tomorrow (hopefully).

IT IS NOT TO LATE TO JOIN THE PICKUP TEAM!!!!

If you have thought about playing, now is the time to decide that you
actually will!

It will be a fun action packed weekend, so even if you can only come
for one day, please sign up:

A reminder for those who would like a white dry-fit sultry shirt to get back to me ASAP with your preferred no; and size. These shirts are available for ALL queensland women to purchase - regardless of whether you are going to Nationals. The shirts are CA$17.95 without a number, an extra $5 or so with a number. With postage and delivery they should be around AUS$30.

If you are going to Nationals, please make sure your number doesn't clash with anyone. If you are not going to Nationals - you can have whatever number you like!

This is who I have so far. IF you know these people, it should help you with the sizes (it is a women's cut).

The Northern Australian Ultimate Championships is on THIS WEEKEND!

Some of the earlier details have changed:

Venue: THERE WILL BE A NEW VENUE - I will let people know where this will be in the next day (it will be the same as the women's tournament)

Party: UBER Bar, Boundary St, West End - 8pm til late

WE ARE STILL LOOKING FOR MORE PEOPLE TO PLAY ON THE PICKUP TEAM

If you have been playing in the Brisbane Premier League or the Yeronga Intermediate League, please come along.

It will be a great weekend where you will be able to play a lot of frisbee and have a lot of fun. Tournaments are one of the best ways to improve your game because you play so many games in a row.

I had positive feedback last week when we tried a different setup of the fields, so we will stick with that for this week and see how it goes.. Field 2 will be the one closer to the oval where they are playing touch.

To inform you of some things..

Middle field cricket pitch - we can't move it, so we will try and move the middle field as close as possible to the next field (the one closest to the car park) so that it covers less of the cricket pitch. Sorry guys but this is the best we can do for this season..

Team rosters - are getting pretty big at this stage. This is largely due to the immense interst received from the boys and not quite enough spare female players to fill the holes. Please encourange more women to play!! The situation will be better next season (i promise!) due to the disintegration of Sultry but in the mean time if you feel that you are not getting enough game time please approach your captain or myself. Potentially you could play for another team who are low on numbers for that day, or captains could arrange a team roster for each week (that way you could have a scheduled night off!)
