I have developed a Microsoft Access Data base using the 2003 version. I
have now been asked to move the DB to the Network Server, so that 5+
users can use it and update information on it at the same time. A file
was created on the Network Server that would house the Front end of the
Database,
The issue `m having, is that I have my "Options / Advanced / "set to
Shared" and I'm still receiving an error message stating:
Microsoft Office Access can't save design changes or save to a new
database object because another user has file open.

Can anyone provide me with some help or even a web sight that has great
direction?

Corey

Here's the deal. Access 2000, 2002, 2003 implement locking of Forms
when more than one user has the Form open. Access 97 didn't care and
often it wasn't a problem.

Thus, in your case, each person needs to have their own Front End file
- the one that contains Forms, Reports, Querys, Macros, Modules, local
private tables.

If you don't want to implement a separate file for each person, then
just tell people to ignore the error message - they will be able to do
data entry, editing but no one will be adble to do Form, Query,
Macros, Modules, Report design unless everyone except one closes the file.
