Managed to sneak away yesterday for a spot of geocaching and bushwalking.
Walked in to the new Nerang Campsite from the foot of Mt Cooke. It is good
to see the bush recovering so well from the January 2003 bush fire. The
bush looks so fresh and green and the wildlife is around the place and active.

The new campsite is located 500 metres south on an improved realignment.
The new campsite is a much better location and a bigger hut. Well worth
taking the time to visit. This would be one of the nicer campsites in this
section in my view.

Thanks to Tony (who hangs out here) and the rest of the crew for their work
in rebuilding the campsite in November 2004.
