Airing On Radio National Tomorrow – Friday 30 September
Radio National “Talking The Walk – Stories From The Bibbulmun Track”
With the 1000 km long Bibbulmun Track in WA's
southwest as a backdrop, Talking the Walk
features stories from people who have walked all
or part of it. Themes of challenge, personal
milestones, isolation, romance, dedication,
blisters, hut etiquette, doing without and the
transforming power of nature are among those explored.
The treasures of the Track itself are unveiled
along with the personalities of the walkers. The
stories are inspiring, sometimes life changing,
humorous and entertaining, told in the voices of
the walkers. A mix of studio interviews, ambient
sound from the Track, interviews conducted on the
Track and voiced-up diary entries bring a sense
of place to the universal themes of journey, challenge and survival.
The first episode airs tomorrow (Friday Sept 30)
on Life Matters (Radio National – 810AM) at
10.30am. The remaining episodes air every day
next week except Wednesday. We have already
listened to some of the stories and it is
certainly worth while taking the time to listen in!
