I regularly take son 1 (11yo) and sometimes son 2 ( 4yo) on the track.

I'd keep to sections close to Perth. The huts are only 10kms apart
and the evacuation options are better. Additionally, Hewett's Hill,
Waalegh and Helena huts are great!
