Reading the latest issue of Outdoor recently, noticed a few more
(preventable) errors.
The stove review (interesting in itself) said the main fuel used in
Trangias in Australia was gas. I don't think so. In fact, I have a gas
burner connection for a Trangia, but it's the only one I have ever seen.
Later it says that Trangias run on "mentholated spirits" (do they think
it smells like Dencorub?) in Australia "but can be used with any number
of fuels around the world". I'm no expert on Trangias, but I can't
imagine they would run too well on, say, diesel. And I'd rather not be
present when someone filled a Trangia with petrol bought from a roadside
stall in Nepal and lit a match.
Finally, there was a cringe-making reference to Steve URWEN!
Nitpicking, I know, but it really should not happen in a magazine which
appears at two-monthly intervals.
Cheers, Tony
