Hi Mark,
I am currently testing a GoLite Odyssey Pack that has a volume of 90 Litres
that is suitable for my frame of 5 ft 10 in, or a torso fit from 44.45 cm -
49.5 cm which is measured from the 7th vertebra to the top of the hip crest.
The 7th vertebra is located in line with the top of the shoulders. If you
are taller than me, then you would qualify for a 95 litre pack.
The weight of the pack is 1.59 kg (3 lb 5 oz). It is made out of
super-durable polyurethane-coated nylon. The maximum comfortable weight is
23 kg. I found 17 kg (including the pack weight) bordering on the comfort
range IMO.
Check it out at the following:

So far I am happy with it.
I used it again today on a Perth Bushwalking outing to Mt Cook and I used it
as a day pack by using the ComPACtor system. Total weight was 7 kg.
It even has a whistle built into the sternum strap buckle.
Cheers
Ralph

Subject: [Aushiker] Ultralight Packs
Hi all,
Looking for some ideas on Ultralight packs, I think weight is going to
be my enemy..:)
There are a few out there looking at some of the Ultralight forums, and
on here, thought some of the posts might be a little old was wanted new
info.
Anyone bought anything lately, tested anything perhaps?, got your eye
on anything?
Pack that i am looking for must also be large enough for weekend hikes,
and still provide back support, i have a day pack already.
Cheers
Mark
