I have ordered a Sigma BS1606L from Phantom Cycles for $56.95. I got this
one because it measures cadence, average speeds etc and is waterproof.

would avoid the Cateyes (no good in the rain apparently) and wireless ones
... not reliable apparently.

I currently have a Cateye Velo 5 which I will probably put on the MTB. Not
really bothered about having a sophisticated model. I am going also move
the 60CSx mount to the MTB and probably put town and country tyres on it so
I can use it for local geocaching.
