Hi All
Last weekend Mark and I hiked out to a Helena hut along the Bibbulman
track. We left after work on Friday and got into the hut after dark.
We got a nice fire going and then looked for a spot for him to pitch
his tarptent but was not able to because of the how steep and hard the
ground is here.
So while I set up my hammock he went and setup his mat in the hut. In
these photos I am using my DIY under quilt for the first time.
In the morning we had a nice chat with the other guy who had camped
also in the hut and was walking the 1000 km to Albany.
We left the hut and headed back to the car but followed old disused
tracks through the bush instead of just retracing our earlier track,
finding some interesting things along the way. One of the things I had
hoped to find was an old abandoned cellar in the bush some place.
After hiking out the the spot where I thought it may have been and
coming up empty we head back up this hill only to find it hidden in a
stand of trees.
I stopped to take a few photos and to make the spot on my gps so that
I may return to give the place a closer going over.
