Hello All,
I have been advised by Gareth Hoare, Park Ranger, Yanchep National Park
of the following due to the fires last month:
"unfortunately the North western end of the Coastal plain walk trail
between Yanchep National Park and Haddrill rd was significantly
damaged.
These damages include loosing every trail marker and sign between the
mentioned area, the Shapcock campsite being burnt down and parts of the
trail itself have been destroyed by fire suppression
equipment e.g. loaders, bull dozers and fire trucks. We hope to have
the trails up and running as soon as possible, but realistically it
with be quite some time before we are able to reopen any of the closed
trails as we are still very busy with the fire season."
So be aware that Shapcott campsite no longer exists.
Best
Ralph
