Hi Group
The Department of Conservation and Land Management (CALM) are advising that
the Irwin Inlet (Section 51 of the Southern Guidebook) is open. This means
that cross the inlet is via canoes, along with the "slog" through the
Showgrounds. Canoes, located in sheds on either side of the channel, have
been provided for walkers to make the crossing. Walkers must ensure that
they have read a copy of the instructions for the safe handling of the
canoes. It is your responsibility to ensure that you read and follow all
instructions to facilitate a safe crossing of the Inlet. These instructions
can be obtained from the shed on either side of the channel.
There are only four canoes in total at the Irwin Inlet Crossing. Walkers
crossing the Inlet by canoe should ensure that there is at least one canoe
left at either side of the inlet.
Regards
Andrew
