Don't forget that there is ADR compliance, which can only be gotten from an
importer
before it gets out of the dockyard. oh yeah, and you can't really just roll up
and say
"i gots me a bike, givvus an adr plate bud", you'll be laughed outta the yard
(well from
impressions i've recieved)

However i *HAVE* been wrong before.
Hiring is definately the way to go too.
