RE: [bikers_anon] Quad biking final reminder and details!

Hey to all intrepid fellow quader's for this sunday,
Due to the new $750k allotment of funds to the Brisbane Waters Highway Patrol
to maintain a 24 hour blitz of the old road with fixed cameras extra patrols etc
etc.
I figured I will take the bus and go in comfort without having to carry any
extra gear. So for those that are going and want me to be the pack horse for
their gear or themselves feel free to contact me offline and arrange.
Think the easiest thing would be to drop gear off to shop on Saturday for
those that dont want carry their stuff on the ride.
See you there at Berowa. If you miss the bus the you fail the IQ test.

The following is the clip thanks to the ever alert Guy Stanford & sydchat

Thanks to the extreme actions of a few, the Old Road is now under Police
surveillance.

Police plan a major blitz on motorcyclists speeding on the Pacific Highway.
POLICE plan a $750,000 blitz on speeding on the Pacific Highway after a
weekend in which motorcyclists turned it into a ``race track''.
In one instance police had to give up pursuit of three bike riders after they
hit speeds of 250km/h.
Brisbane Water highway patrol sergeant Gary Carr said police recently obtained
$750,000 to fund round-the-clock patrolling of the highway between Mooney Mooney
and Kariong during busy periods.
This may involve speed traps set up permanently over weekends.
Brisbane Water crime manager Chief-Insp Darren Bennett warned the practice of
riders using the Pacific Highway as their private ``race track'' had to stop.
``It's becoming an alarming trend and with warmer weather coming it is only
expected to get worse.''
``These speeds are more than reckless. They place the riders, but more
importantly, other motorists and the police in enormous danger.''
He said driving in a dangerous manner and at extreme speed meant an immediate
loss of licence and heavy fines.
Asked if police believed the offenders were professional or semi-professional
riders, Sgt Carr said: ``They were or else they were incredibly stupid.''
The sunny weekend saw hundreds of motorcyclists take to what is known in biker
circles as the ``old road'' between Mooney Mooney and Kariong through Mount
White.

Beasty,

It’s pretty normal for us to meet at Berowra and stop at Mt White. In fact,
we almost do it as a rule. Why? Because the petrol at Road Warriors is as
good as the coffee at the Berowra servo.

As for Doug’s typos, well I guess he’s not as perfect as he’d have us
believe :-) oh, and thanks for lending me your bike on Sunday mate ;)

Hi Doug,

I'm not going on this but would like to point out that the timetable doesn't
look quite right...

1) Why a quick stop for coffee not more than 15 mins after getting suited
up? Shoulda made the meet point at Road Warriors and be done with the extra
stop! (or the enthusiastic ones will go for a couple of laps of the Old Rd
before the meet times! :)
2) Also, I want to know how to go from Mt White to Glenworth Valley in no
time at all. I want one of those bikes!!! :D
