Red light cameras actually lead to an increase in crashes as people
slam on the brakes at the last moment to avoid getting booked while
the diver behind is accelerating to try and beat the lights.
Red light runners are a major problem. The crashes are usually higher
speed as they accelerate to get thru the intersection.
Lately ive seen a disturbing number of people stop at red lights look
and then drive thru the red light if there isnt any coming.
