Sunday started out with perfect warm weather and ten keen riders
heading to Kangaroo Valley for lunch via the Nasho. Shannon lead the
pack and it quickly became cool and vision impaired as the fog came in -
so much for the view at Stanwell Tops! There we met up with three new
riders and had a leisurely ride to KV up the Macquarie Pass for a long
lunch at a local cafe. After lunch we rode to the lookout at the top of
the Cambewarra mountain for the breathtaking views and headed back via
the southern highlands roads led by the new locals - Rob and Tim -
thanks guys! After a drink at Picton pub we all headed to where we
needed to be. We covered almost 440kms and even though it was long,
hot, cold, fog, hot, traffic, slow lunch, missing the corner-marker,
watching fellow riders do stupid overtakes!!!! (and most of us are
getting very guilty of this!) it was an enjoyable and fun day out as
all our rides are intended to be.
