Look out Guys and Girls some of us found a lovely silver unmarked bacon
mobile today, he's patrolling the putty and has the latest video/radar gear
installed
Had a couple stuffed toys on the back parcel shelf to try and hide the rear
facing camera and a towel over the camera on the dash.

Also was told by a copper in an unmarked LTD edition Ambrose XR8 falcon that
they have taken delivery of several of these and also the XR8 Enforcer
http://www.ford.com.au/falcon/devilenforcer/index.html as well as some new
WRX subaru's and BMW's , all unmarked

Guess there getting too gutless to use marked cars or would that just drop
revenue as people would see them and slow down hmmmm I wonder.

I've done it too. But mostly by accident because being tailgated by a bus in
rushhour and there being no gap in the traffic to change into the 'proper'
lane without decelerating significantly.

No tickets yet, but I haven't made a habit of it ... too paranoid!

Ever since one of those b*&^5ggers forced its way past me when I was
indicating to change lanes (clipping my expensive pipe but luckily no real
damage), I don't trust them to behave, even if you have indicated and slowed
down as much as three to five seconds in advance(supposedly giving the
c*&^%$ts sufficient warning to slow down their fatarse juggernauts)!!

Apparently renting non-harleys in the states isn't as common as you
might expect.

Depending on how "not similar to an R1" you want to get, some people
on the Ducati Monster mailing list have had good things to say about
these guys:

http://www.rentasportbike.com/

They rent some late model 600 sportsbikes, including the '05 CBR600RR
if you want to feel right at home, and an '05 VFR800 if you're
looking for something perhaps a little more "trek worthy" (and
"shotgun ridin' babe friendly")...

They're In San Francisco instead of LA, but you can fly direct to SF
from here instead of LA (and LA isn't all that interesting a place to
visit anyway in my opinion, though you'd miss out on the trip up
Highway 1 which is pretty cool).

Its not going to be cheap though - ~$150/day - if you're planning on
taking more than a couple of weeks, it'd be cheaper to try to
organise to buy a bike over there and sell it when you're done...

big (who's got exactly the same long harboured plan...)

I'm going to the UK in Feb 2006 for 1 year to start with, but if I
love it over there I will not return to OZ.

So my question is:
Does anyone have any contacts or know of any website that list sport
bike clubs in the UK?

Thanks

Hi Everyone.

It's been brought to my attention the lack of interest in ride days
since the big cafuffle over ride day operators at the end of last
year.

I'll take on some of the blame as I haven't made it easier for you to
know when they are on.

The main part for us is that we don't lose the option to HAVE ride
days.

I encourage you to ride all of the available tracks for 2 reasons.
1. To encounter different circuits to improve your riding
2. To support the operators so we don't lose the option to ride there
in the future... remember Amaroo ?. Lets not be saying sooner than we
have to .... remember Oran Park and Wakefield. Go to their site and
see when they have ride days on.

http://www.oranpark.com/ Oran Park Race Way

http://www.wakefieldpark.com.au/index.cfm Wakefield Park

There is a Track Day at Oran Park next Sunday 8th May. $129.90 5 or
more $119.90 (lunch, water and refreshments included)
www.circuitbreakers.com.au

Circuit Breakers has recently offered a discount on the next Race
School. Mention you are a BA member. www.circuitbreakers.com.au

National Superbikes at Eastern Creek this Sunday 1st May

Hope to see you on the track

I keep my tag in my jacket pocket, it's registered to my bike, not to a car and
it works
reasonably well going through the E-Toll Lane on the Habour Bridge (bus lane)
...
judging by the traffic light tuning green (as i can't hear bleeeping noises).

but get this, it doesn't seem to work in my wifes car !! with subsequent
infringement
notices furnished in the mail.... this i find amusing, but also a hassle.

anyway, ... having the tag in my pocket is not all that appropriate. In the
unlikely event
that i crash and land on my side where the tag is, it will surely help to break
ribs etc ...
but the same can be said for my phone, keys, palmpilot and various other
electronic
junk i might have on my person at the time.

safety is the angle, the result should be free tolls for motorcycles. yeah baby
yeah !
and those flocks of pigs will fly in perfect formation ....
