Hello guys,

JC – some of you know him has a VFR800 and just got quoted $60/month
insurance via ebike compared with almost $1300/year on QBE & Swan

Can anyone provide feedback on ebike Insurance…. Reliable? Do they
actually pay – in event of theft/damage?

Thanks a lot.

Yes, it can be done on a sports-bike. Although I did get sore muscles
where I didn't even know I had muscles.

Cheers,

I reckon instead of the usual ride ratings (Type 1, Type 2, 4 Bikes, 3
Bikes) it would be better to have a "Bum Rating"

Like; easy rides are "Cardboard Bum" or Plastic. Maybe "Baby's Bum".

Longer, tougher rides are "Iron Bum", "Steel Bum" or "Kevlar Bum".

Much more betterer!

Woke up on sunday morning to sunshine and a slight chill in the air, perfect
riding weather...
Arrived at Mobil Berowra to see a healthy number of riders (16?) with some new
and old faces seemingly ready for a fun day. As our ride GURU Andreas was out
for the day I was to lead the ride. This was a new ride route for BA even if it
was slightly adjusted on the day ; ) so was keen to try it out as it was
something a little different.
We all left Berowra and headed off down the old road. A nice easy run was nice
even with the welcoming committee (two marked police cars) and we followed the
old road to calga where we turned off and had a quick blat down the freeway to
Kariong. From there it was down though Woywoy, Empirebay, Kincumber and off to
Terrigal for a rather quick drink stop as it was getting busy and I had chosen
some rather jubious parking....
From there we had some fun with the 20 something roundabouts to Tuggerah and a
refuel at Wyong (no premium at Kulnura). For me this is where the day became
interesting. The Yaramalong road was ahead of us with all its bumps and a
certain ride on an orange bike who had too many bumps on the head. After that
wonderful piece of road we went up the short but sweet Bumble hill road to
Kulnura. I had a nice chat with the the 'orange bike' rider and we again twisted
our throttles to wollombi for a much needed lunch and drink. From Wollombi some
departed (hope you had nice rides) and the rest of us rode back to Pie in the
Sky to end our day.
Was a very enjoyable day and hope to see you out again soon,
Ray (green zx636r)

HI,
There are a few who take pillions occasionally and those who always have a
pillion, they are always welcome on any ride. My wife is a rider as well but
will come on the back with me when our babysitter is available.
I can suggest that trying one of our shorter rides (ride to patonga 13/4/08) if
you have not had too much experience with longer bum numbing rides : ) .

I have found the road 2 to be a great tyre on the rear of blackbird, 10,000
ks out of the last one, normally im lucky to get 4,000 out of a rear, the
only thing I don't like about Michelins is very little feedback from the
tyre, I like a tyre that lets you know when its being pushed

Stick with a 190 is my recommendation too unless you can get a higher
profile

Hi,

I've been out of the group for a while due to selling my last bike
(ZX6-R) 18 or so months ago. Keen to get back in though after having
put a deposit on a used 12-R on the weekend.

The bike needs a new rear tyre so was hoping someone might be able to
recommend a sport/touring oriented tyre for a decent price.

Keen to hear any thoughts on 190 vs 200 section on a ZX12-R too.

Cheers,
Scott Pettet

Scott,

Not really sure about best price, but a few comments:-
- go for the 190. Works fine and more choice I believe.
- A brief comment on the tyre types I have tried:-
* standard Dunlop (D208 I think???) --> never again.
* Michelin Pilot Power --> good.
* Metzeler SporTec M3 --> pretty good.
* Michelin 2CT --> pretty good so far - not sure if it is just me or
unlucky tyre, but picked up numerous punctures already.

Cheers & good luck ...................... Mark.

It was an awesome ride today - the weather was absolutely perfect. I
think there were about 16 or so riders. No real incidents to speak of,
other than our new mate on the orange cruiser (who was stopped at Broke
when I pulled in for some fuel, and then promptly took off again).

Thanks to everyone for a great day - I really enjoyed it! Looking
forward to the next one.

Gymea Shell Service Station, though be warned about expecting premium unleaded

Bad news – the Police has the power now to use whatever car they wish,
adorned with p-plates as well. So the next 200SX, turbo VL commodore or
other car starts harassing, you, it could be the cops looking to bust you
from the inside.

Pretty sneaky but that’s what it’s come to.

Folks,

Burgundy coloured Ford sedan (Reb Bal 17 ??) was trolling the old pac
yesterday. there was nothing that i could see to give this car away, It
even had the shade screens on the back window so it looked like a
family car and very dark tinted glass so you couldn't see inside.

Even up close the only thing I could see that may give it away was a
small (and I mean small) "box" mounted in the back window. There was
nothing hanging on the outside. Actually I didnt see anything that
would give it away - thanks to the motorcyclists who waved me down!!

I was told that there is a similar blue Ford sedan also in the area.

Regards

thanks Mate! We were always too eager to watch the recording at the end of the
day.
But I can only record riders who are slower than me as my cam is always facing
backward.
Since I got this little handy camera Ive been recording group day rides like
the HRCAs. The cam is very light sensitive and it was cloudy on that day.
I'll record the next BA rides, I can only ride in 2-3wks time, got work stuffs
todo at weekend lately.
I think 4 of us willbe at RATS Eastern Creek Anzac Friday for their famous bbq
too. See u there and we'll look for you.
the O/Park photos from bike-photos.com is now online. He uploaded it Wed night.
Cheers,
Rudi.

Well done Rudi and congrats on surviving a difficult "first" day at OP. I
was there as well but in the next garage with my mates and far too many
"organised" RATS riders. That BBQ smelled so good! :-)

Awesome footage and overall video compilation with a sound track, yeah. Can
you come to the rest of our track days and do the same for us? You are much
better value than "the official" photographer on the day. Are his photo's
   even up yet?

Come along to one or all of our rides and bring your camera. You'll have a
   ball.

   Cheers

[:D] We had an awesome day on the track last week. I was there with a
group of friends and were lucky enough to share a garage with
BikersAnon. Well 2 of us are members of BA anyway.

Im on yeloow gixxer and was my first O/Park day, hence was reflected in
Session-1 where everyone overtook me. BTW, I was starting in group-C,
then felt like being a TEC in that group, so I demoted myself to Group-D
in Session-2, 3, etc. Next time I'll prob up to C.

Totally disliked the track design initially, especially with that poodle
of water near turn 3 or 4 before the bridge. But after few laps turned
out to be an enjoyable track. Now its my favorite as its short and after
you pass the Yoko bridge it was a series of fast sweepers. I didnt get
to know all BA members on the day but I think I got a rider in white
BMW(white helmet) in my on-board cam. I notice that there was a also
lady in light blue jacket that might be a BA member too. If you are in
my clip then I'd love to hear from you next time. I only been to 1
meeting with BA so Im keen to know more of you. Anyone going to E-Creek
Ride days on Anzac long weekend?

Here's a clip from Group-D, I can burn it on a DVD for you as the

hahaha... cool!!
Seemed like I was your family's cameraman on the day. Oh...its a 1100cc, no
wonder he just blasted past me.
We had a fantastic day = no crash. Turn-2 is abit trickey and I need more
practice on right-handers.
I'll bring a copy of the unedited clip to BA's dinner next Thursday. They'll see
how they ride full lap before they overtook me.

Cheers,
Rudi.

   HI,
Awesome stuff with the video, well done. You did happen to get my wifes Dad
(white r1100s) and brother (green zx636r) on your video. They would love a copy
of your video if it is not to much trouble.
I am pleased that you had so much fun out at the track. Oran Park is
definately a track which becomes more enjoyable the better you get to know it.
Look forward to seeing you at one of our rides/dinners.
