I'm afraid the wheels have to be left at home for this one...
This is a bold request for sponsorship for my run in the SMH Half
Marathon on May 18. Your support would help to remind me that I can't
keel over until I have completed the second circuit of the race… 21
loooong kms! It's also for an excellent cause.

Take a look at the direct link below to the Henry, Jasper & Evan Smith
Trust Fund which gives you info about how the funds raised by the team
I am running with will be used to purchase humidicribs for premature
babies in Intensive Care.

The page outlines the different ways you can 'sponsor' me and get a
tax deductible donation for your 2007/2008 financial records in the
bargain!

http://www.ourcommunity.com.au/giving/appeal_details.form?appealId=1393

If you make an online donation via the secure website, please add my
email address in the section titled 'optional information'
OR
if you make a donation via another method (eg. mail, phone or fax)
send an email to let me know so I can track how much I have rustled up
from generous friends & supporters & report after the event - possibly
from my own hospital bed!

Thanks in advance for your support! Carolyn B (sv650) cazzabee@...

Subject: [Delegates] International Female Ride Day

Hi everyone,

Could you please pass this around to all women riders, sorry about the short
notice, had a call from the Womens Commission of MA & thought I'd better put
something together.

................................................................................\
................................................................................\
................

I've organised women riders to meet this Saturday from 10am at Mt White café to
celebrate International Womens Ride Day.

Its happening world wide and although we got short notice of it, we can still
show our strength of numbers. The girls from the Womens Commission thru MA
(Motorcycling Australia) contacted me and would love to see photos of the day
and its something we can add to next years calendar and celebrate in a really
big way.

We are all proud to ride our bikes and it's a great thing to celebrate.

Check out the web page www.womenonwheels.org.au

Hope to see lots of you there,

The Kwaka is dead! Long live the Kwaka!

Impressive eulogy to the 7 my friend. I never knew you could be so
eloquent and emotional. I'm thinking of dying before you now, so you
can deliver the eulogy at my funeral! :)

Looking forward to hoisting a beer or two with you mate,
Jase.

I'm not a hard core bike rider, I have a car for general transport needs and
daily commuting but I ride a bike purely for enjoyment. Over the years I've
grown to enjoy a beer at the end of ride and the chance to sit back and
reflect on the ride completed. It has become a ritual for me.

Yesterday I had that 'end of ride' beer for a ride that I started on Friday.
I'm a lot more reflective and emotional than usual as I've now said goodbye
to my old Kawasaki friend. Temperamental as it was, my zx7r took me on the
best riding experiences I've had. Dented, scratched and multi coloured as it
had become it was my bike and loved riding it. Unforgiving and unyielding it
taught me how to respect and trust it as my own skill developed and
improved. I will miss you my old friend.

My Kawasaki zx7r was killed by a Honda on the old road on Friday the 25th
April. The CBR2500RR slid out on a wet right hand corner north of Cowan. It
mounted and climbed a rock cutting wall before being deflected back onto the
road in my immediate path. It hit my bike whilst still airborne and
initially impacted against my left headlight. I took part of the impact on
my left arm, shoulder, head and neck and I was thrown off to the right. I
slid across the oncoming lane and came to a stop tangled in the guard rail.

I spent 4 nights in hospital and I'm very lucky to have only minimal
injuries. A broken left ulna (lower bone in forearm), a suspected broken
Scaphoid in my right wrist, bruising all over my left shoulder & upper arm,
some scratches on my neck and a small puncture hole on my right shin.

The other rider broke all 3 bones connecting his right elbow and hopefully
he will be released from hospital today. I wish you a quick recovery mate
and hold no hard feelings against you.

As a rider I grew a lot in the last 5 days.

Fellow BA'ers and new friends,

The updated ride calendar for May and June is now available for viewing on
the BA website:

http://www.bikersanon.com/

Unique to this calendar are two planned overnighters, the "BA Ride and Camp
weekend away" on 17/5 & 18/5 and the "Freeze your arse off weekend" in
Bathurst on 15/6 & 15/6. Get your details on the Yahoo group page database
if you want to come along (http://au.groups.yahoo.com/group/bikers_anon/)
and look out for more information via e-mail in the near future.

For those of us who love the all day rides, check out the "BA Challenge" on
the 11/5. This will be a long and difficult "5 bikes" rated ride. So plan
carefully, wear your full leathers and expect a fun day on some of our
favourite roads. No new members on this ride please.

We've also planned a track day at Oran Park, a Wisemans Ferry run, a learner
friendly ride to Mount Victoria, a trip to the Burragorang Lookout and don't
forget our regular social dinners at the Macquarie Hotel.

As it can't possibly rain anymore? We should be right for some great rides
on sunny days. I hope you will join us.

Andre

On the calendar is a weekend away to Sandy Hollow. This is a large tourist park
with camping sites (powered and unpowered), Cabins and Motel like rooms.
Unfortunately the cabins and rooms are booked out (you may phone and check, Tel
No.02 6547 4575) due to a Junior Rugby League Competition happening this same
weekend. Please read the details below and lodge your interest on the database.
As a Ute (with lockable hard cover) and Station Wagen are travelling up to Sandy
Hollow, anybody that would like thier camping equipment taken up by car can do
so. Please contact me (Jason Ruth) on 0434 292020 to arrange dropping off the
stuff you want taken by car. The nights I will be home for this are Thursday
night 15th and Friday night the 16th of May, between 5pm to 8pm.
Ride up via Putty Road. 9:00am meet at McGraths Hill Mobil Service Station for
a 9:30am departure. This will get us to Sandy Hollow after lunch (around 2pm
ish)
There is no set Dinner Plans. There is a pub across the road for dinner, or if
you choose to BBQ please bring your own (likewise Breakfast).
If you plan to camp, unpowered campsites DO NOT require booking (I have spoken
to Sandy Hollow Tourist Park and thier comment was that they don't take bookings
for unpowered sites on a standard weekend).
There is no set time for the ride home. You may ride home individually, or if
everyone agrees on a time, then as a group. This to be decided on Sunday
morning.
Sandy Hollow is located on the 'Golden Highway', approximately 8km west of
Denman.
Sandy Hollow contact details: www.sandyhollow.com.au Tel. 02 6547 4575.

Please lodge your name and details on the database created on the BA Yahoo Group
so we can finalise details with you.
Looking forward to seeing you on the ride and sharing a beer with you.

Jason Ruth.

While I feel a tad uncomfortable about asking you guys for money yet
again, I am encouraged by being asked by quite a few of you on how
Racing4MS is going and how you can help.
I feel even more uncomfortable asking you guys for money so I can
come and beat some of you at the track, but thems the breaks

So, here goes...

Whats YOUR name worth?

Using the latest micro printing technology this unique opportunity
will give you the ultimate in supporter participation… YOUR NAME
emblazoned on the Racing4MS race bikes.

You'll also get a certificate, regular news updates and that warm
fuzzy feeling you might be missing out on in life.

Money raised will go to putting 2 bikes on the track, competing in
BEARS and probably Aus supers. Monies raised will also help us take
the message to the major bike shows in Sydney, Melbourne and
Brisbane, host charity events giving others a better quality of life
and help create positive stories about our activities in the national
press.

If you go to Ebay and look up Join Team R4MS (or for the next few
days follow this link... http://tinyurl.com/4ptjd6 ) you will get a
chance to bid/pledge as much or as little as you want, then even when
you are unable to be out there on the track in person, you will still
be out there in name.

Thanks for taking time to read this, we at Team R4MS will be honored
to have you onBoard with us, see you out there real soon.

To learn more about us go to www.racing4ms.org and see what we have
done to date.
