I am keen to ride no matter the weather. I agree unfair to cancel accomodation
this late. Maybe those not so keen to ride could drive and still make a nice
weekend of it.

I'll be going, rain or shine.

I don't think it's fair to the accomodation suppliers that we all
cancel at this late stage. Plus, it's only water, we're not water
soluble and the distances we'll be doing aren't so big that they can't
be done slowly and safely if necessary.

Hi All, I have checked the BOM site and with some considerable reluctance I
have to ask the question.....is it more sensible to postpone this weekends
ride ? ( and what has sensible got to do with anything ?)

I am a firm believer that it never rains all day but the forecast is not
rosy. Pretty shitty, actually. Have no advice on this, but I will go on the

On top of all the things Ms Prez has told you to pack, be sure to pack the
following;

clean underwear, socks, t-shirts, bottles. If unable to pack bottles maybe you
best bring along your wet nurse. Also be sure to fill in all paperwork, in
triplicate, indicating what time you will take a piss, what time you need a
break, time when shower is needed, time to stop and eat, etc. Be sure that
copies of this paperwork is forwarded to those in charge as they must know
everything.

Cant wait! This weekend is our planned adventure trip away - as the weather is
unpredictable dont forget to pack the thermals as Walch can be cool; wet weather
gear; tyre puncture repair kit and a good attitude. If your not leaving with the
group at 2pm please let me, or someone else who is going, know of your own
travel plans so we can all be accounted for at the destination stops (ie Wingham
on Friday night and Walch on Saturday night).
Group ride leaving Mobil Berowra on Friday, 3 April at 1.30pm for a 2.00pm
start.
Happy safe travelling to everyone and see you on the road.
Any queries call me on 040402 4842.
Cheers
Ms Prez

Subject: [Delegates] Ch 7 Sunday

Please communicate this widely.

Channel 7 Sunday-Night Program is running "War on Gangs" tomorrow night.
("how Australia can fight back")

http://au.tv.yahoo.com/sunday-night/

They are ringing around trying to round up riders to sit in the audience for
the discussion to go to air.

MCC of NSW has declined to go to this. It looks like an ambush.
We have already avoided several efforts by the gutter press to draw the MCC
of NSW into the melee.

Ch 7 are also running a story on Chris Vermuelen and his racing exploits in
Europe with Suzuki.
This is their "bait" to get riders to attend.

How would this be an ambush?
Get some scruffy-looking riders into the studio audience, portray them as
"gang" and have some vigilante start an argument with them and put that to
air as representing road riders.........

Inciting passions is the game.
This would encourage vigilante behaviour on the street, as happened after
Milperra so many years ago.

The downside is greater than any potential upside.

If ordinary road riders are seen to condone violence or drug crime in ANY
way, we're ALL in for a rough time, not just those who ride Harleys.

There will be riders who will attend "to get on TV".
If you know any who can't help themselves, please ensure they have the
following "talking points" and ask them to restrict any comment to this:

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

The Motorcycle Council of NSW represents a wide range of motorcyclists
across the state. These include Girls Ride Out – a group for female riders,
Ulysses Club – a group for mature age riders and Patriots – a club for
current and ex-serving members of the Australian Defence Force. Members of
the clubs we represent include young people who just recently bought a
scooter, commuters, off-road riders and more experienced motorcyclists, who
enjoy riding a scooter or motorcycle both as transport, and for leisure.

As an organisation our main objective is to support our members, generate
better awareness of riders on the roads and ensure that motorcyclists are
represented and accounted for by government, whether this be on parking and
planning issues, road tolls or transport infrastructure. We also aim to
highlight the benefits of riding a motorcycle or scooter particularly in
light of the increasing cost of petrol and traffic congestion.

(i.e. touring, socialising - enjoying day rides, exploring roads and places,
quiet coffee with friends, rallies & camping, fund raising, community
support, "like minded people in my club", just ordinary people who enjoy
motorcycles, as varied as the community)

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

It's the truth. Speak it with confidence.

Boys, Girls, BAer's,

Slight mistake on my behalf. The maps and instructions for saturday have been
corrected. The map on the first page of the file was incorrect to the
directions. The file that is uploaded now has the correct corresponding overall
map.

Sorry for that.

Again, safe travels, stay upright and see you at the overnight stops.

BAer's

For those of you that are taking the time to leave Sydney for this wonderful
weekend away there are now maps available for download. They are in PDF format,
so most of you should be able to download and print.

This link below should take you to the files part of the BA yahoo group.
http://au.groups.yahoo.com/group/bikers_anon/files/BA%20Oxley%20Weekend%203-4-5%\
20Apr%2009/

However if this doesn't work please go to the BA Yahoo Group. Here click on the
'Files' link on the left hand side. Next click on the 'BA Oxley Weekend 3-4-5
Apr 09' folder link. Once here you will see 4 files available to download.
They are;

BA Friday Early Wingham.pdf
BA Friday Late Wingham.pdf
BA Saturday Oxley.pdf
BA Sunday Home.pdf

The file names are very obvious as to what they are intended for. Travel safe
and see you at the overnight stops.

You can get them from MCAS for $10 for about 10 strips.

Also if you have the room on your bike instead of the CO2 buy a $15 electric air
pump form Kmart , strip off the outer covering and you have air to go.

Cheers

Many thanks for the replies regards sealing of the Bylong Rd. Most times I've
done this ride it's been at a fairly brisk speed so arriving at Rylstone just
after midday is the norm. A mate has posted the ride on the Two Wheels site so I
expect the speeds will be down a bit, so i'm taking your advice Jason & making
the start time 8am now. The offer still stands for any BA member to come along.
It's a long ride, but the scenery & roads are brilliant.

Details are:- Leave - McGraths Hill Maccas at 8.00am with full tank. Regroup at
Halfway House (quick stop only) & again at Bulga (maybe fuel). Denman for a
drink & fuel (234km from start). Bylong Valley Way to Rylstone for lunch.
Heading towards Lithgow I intend turning off at Cullen Bullen & going through
Portland, then Rydal & South Bowenfels, but some might want to head straight to
Lithgow & back via Bells or the GWH.

As stated before ... all welcome, but probably a 4 bike ride.

Peter.

Most bike shops have them.

Id go for a basic kit, preferably including
-reaming tool
-insertion tool
-"dog shit" black/brown strand type 'plugs' (these seem to work the best by far)
-some CO2 cylinders and adaptor/connector to get the cylinders onto the tyre
valve. An alternative to the CO2 cylinders is to carry a small bicycle pump.

You should be able to get a kit for less than $50, although you can pay a lot
more. Then just replace what you need with use.

I also have a Leatherman tool and some cable ties stored with my puncture repair
kit.

The bylong valley way is all sealed now. The secret is out by the bikes/cars on
the wrong side of the road we encountered. Nice all the same. We left Asquith
just before 8am and I was hungrily scoffing down a yummy steak burger and the
best milkshake ever (worth the ride for that alone) a little after 1pm at the
pub you mentioned. This was with limited small stops and a refuel.
If you keep off the hwy from Jerrys Plains there is a small section of dirt and
some bumpy back roads.

Ray

Only a couple of days now. Therefore I thought it would be good to send a
reminder of my birthday drink.

When : Saturday 28th March from 6pm onwards

Where: Terrey Hills Taverne , Terry Hills
( on / at Mona Vale road , Northern Beaches)

I reserved an area / tables outside.

The food is good and they should have enough beer and other drinks.

And don't worry or break your head regarding presents. I like to quote Kim's
godfather : Your present is present enough for me.

Love to see you.

Andreas

On the Sunday 7th June (the Queen's Birthday Long Weekend - also a Double
Demerits Weekend)the BA committee has decided to run a combined ride and social
event. The ride will start at Gymea, and head through the NASHO (National Park),
down the Princes Hwy, across along the Appin, Wilton, Picton, Menangle, Finns
Roads and then Remembrance Driveway to end up at the Camden Paintball Venue (in
Cawdor Road corner of Remembrance Drvwy). Once there, approx, 11.30-12.00
Midday, we are organising a social PAINTBALL EVENT for all who would like to
participate - even if you would prefer to get there by car. Final cost and
details will be advised a little later, depending on the numbers. All those that
are interested in participating in this FUN DAY social event should put there
name down on the BA website / Database / Camden Paintball Day Spreadsheet -

http://au.groups.yahoo.com/group/bikers_anon/database?method=reportRows&tbl=90

(cut & paste this into the address window)
We will have to pay deposits for the Paintball for each person, probably about 3
weeks before the event.
This is an event where you can bring your partner, friends, etc. The more the
merrier.

wishes to pass his thanks onto those that looked after him. His knees got
cleaned today, no reconstruction required, knee caps are intact and the road
debris is now removed from his body. No decision has been made as to what and
when the medical people with fix the broken collarbone. As for the fractured
ribs, time is the best medicine. All in all Tony is doing well, well enough to
make jokes at his own expense. This tells me that even after having the wind
knocked out of him that it couldn't knock that sense of humour his out of him.

Bed 21. About the only request he made is that if you can bring in a decent cup
of coffee he would greatly appreciate it as the coffee in Westmead Hospital is
shite.

Went to visit Tony at Westmead yesterday! He is in good spirits and just wants
to go home now. All good news it seems, his collar bone and ribs are repairing
themselves and his right knee does not need a skin graft and the surgeons have
now repaired his knee - he is hoping and expecting to be discharged today so he
can recouperate at home - he will let us know when he is finally discharged. He
is also talking about a new bike and that's a good sign.
Sue
