From the keyboard of Nathaniel Meyer.....

As a last resort I will lead, though if so will probably change to wiseman's
ferry crossing and go Kulnura via Spencer.

.....

So we might have a ride leader after all. Cheers Nathan!

Hey Guys. You might haven't heard from me for a while. After a few changes in my
life i had to rearrange myself. I found a new home which i had to made livable
first. It looks like i am back on track and i think its time to celebrate. So
why not have a house warming , ups i have to call it a house colding ( my old
house got no heating and its winter ) .

So again: why not have a house colding.

when: 18 July starts around lunch with open end

Bring your kids and pets if you want, i got a decent back yard.

But most important, I like to see lots of bikes ( Big Mama and the Blade wanna
celebrate with others their new home too ).

Remember its winter, dress to suit weather ( specially in the evening)

Maybe we can arrange a projector and a screen so we can run pics in the
backround.

So, spread the word and i might see you.

Due to exceptional circumstances the committee can not guarantee that a ride
leader will be available on the day. The suggested ride map is posted on the
Bikers Anon website (link: http://www.bikersanon.com/node/90)

Rather than cancel the ride the committee feels that members who wish to do
this ride can go "unplugged" for the day and organise themselves.

Please ensure that you are familiar with the suggested route and enjoy your
day.

Nope, not that I am aware of. Besides I wouldn't buy a t-shirt with Hyosung on
it anyway, and if I had to go back and buy my first bike all over again I
wouldn't buy what I have either. What I do know is that my next bike will not
be Italian (short arms, deep pockets, passionless bastard that I am) or even
European for that matter. It will not be Korean either but probably from the
land of the rising sun. As to which one, too early to tell............NEXT!!

Hi Alex,

I asked about this last time I insured a bike and back then (October 2007)
BA wasn't good enough to be on the list. It had to be something like Honda
Riders Club, Ducati Owners Club or Ulysses. I'm happy that we now have
'status' with insurers. I think our members have given them enough business
over the years.

As for membership numbers I just record the memberships as they come in. You
don't actually keep a member number for life or anything like that. I had
thought about that a while ago for milestones. Eg 500th , 1000th or
1000000th member etc, but I'm not sure we have all of the 'early days'
paperwork available.

So if you need a number you can make one up and just photocopy the 2009 key
ring as proof. Let the group know if that is enough to satisfy them. What
discount do you get?

Cheers,

Andre

Grrr. Jealous of the rides - travelling heaps this year and never home when
the rides are on. However, a query on BA membership.
QBE insurance appear to place some on being a member of a recognised club.
Why this would apply to this disreputable bunch is beyond me, but
apparently, it does. So, according to at lease one insurer, BA is a
registered/recognised motorcycle club. They did ask for a membership number,
which I was unable to give them. Something for the future perhaps?

Jason, the bike was a yellow lemon - sure it looked great but geez - poor Tim!
He had a rough weekend but he kept his chin up, soldiered on, fixed it and got
the bike home at least. Maybe you can suggest to him that he buy a Hyosung?
Sometimes, we all need an eDUCATIon and I dont think paying out on him or his

Jason, the bike was a yellow lemon - sure it looked great but geez - poor Tim!
He had a rough weekend but he kept his chin up, soldiered on, fixed it and got
the bike home at least. Maybe you can suggest to him that he buy a Hyosung?
Sometimes, we all need an eDUCATIon and I dont think paying out on him or his
bike is my style!

Great ride report Sue. It did however leave me asking some questions. As most
will know you have a illogial pasionate love of all things Italian, and as these
loves can go they are every so ready to bag and belittle and non-Italian
product. You were so kind to mention about a 'NEW' bike that 'BROKE' but you
never did mention the Make and Model of said bike. By chance would it have been
a 'DUCATI'??????????

Jason R
(Yellow Peril) - Yes it is Korean and it is a Hyosung.....

Saturday morning was bright and buzzing with 16 keen riders ready to ride up the
mountains and beyond - it was great to see Shannon and Louise for a meet and
greet but they couldn't continue the adventure due to "technical" issues - we
headed up Bells Line to Lithgow and past heaps of cops - but they didn't bother
anyone. We all met for lunch at Rylestone where it was warm and welcoming - and
all continued together on our journey the long way to Mudgee. We had a couple
of minor headaches, Ben with a flat tyre and Tim cracked his bum frame (on his
new bike too!) - Roger Ramjet came to the rescue and all was well and one by
one, we all eventually landed at Bathurst (after some laps of the circuit at Mt.
Panorama of course!). Back at the ranch we settled in and had a good look at
Tim's damage. The prognosis was that the bike was sick and needed an operation
before he could ride home! So the next morning, Rachel (his angel girlfriend
delivered to him a
new sub-frame part and tools and he was able to fix the bike and ride home
alone via Oberon as planned - so much for the virgin ride on his new
bike...ouch! ) As for the rest of us,Saturday night was party night - our moods
just got into full swing and from what I can remember, the Moto GP was on, and
the TV was a bloody BIG screen (approx. 4m x 3m) -I mean a huge screen. (how
good was that!) The open fires were warm, the food plentiful and the red wine
just kept on flowing on every table - compliments of Ben! As for entertainment,
we even had the gorgeous and adorable Kias to dance and giggle with - we were
on fire, laughing and having too much fun, as only exhausted riders, lovers,
friends and drivers know how to! Greg B. did his annual show up (riding alone
from Griffith) and he brought with him the original ride rules from the very
first BA ride (that laminated sheet is now missing and if anyone has it, please
let us know). The next morning,
some of us awoke with sore heads but nothing a good solid breakfast and laps
around the track again couldn't fix. We parted ways and a few of us rode home
via Oberon and even though we got a little bit of rain, nothing seemed to dampen
our spirits finishing off with lunch at Kurrajong Heights. I just want to say
thanks to each of you that made the effort to come along and join us! Yep, it
was cold and I did freeze my arse off but I still cant seem to wipe that huge
smile off my face and how damn good I feel right now. Thanks again to everyone
for making it happen and for another funny, enjoyable and memorable weekend
away.
Ms. Prez

Grrr. Jealous of the rides - travelling heaps this year and never home when the
rides are on. However, a query on BA membership.
QBE insurance appear to place some on being a member of a recognised club. Why
this would apply to this disreputable bunch is beyond me, but apparently, it
does. So, according to at lease one insurer, BA is a registered/recognised
motorcycle club. They did ask for a membership number, which I was unable to
give them. Something for the future perhaps?

Great ride report and photos (thanks TC and Graham)....great company.....great
weekend had by all!!!! Awesome roads regardless of the weather and cops.

Btw.....I never once froze but did get to use my heated grips for the first and
last time now the ZZR is up for sale.

Sue no dramas as to the whereabouts of the laminated ride rules sheet, your
trusty Secretary has it in hand.

Really nice photos Graham... I'm impressed.

It was a great weekend dispite my usual inability to keep my bike
upright when stationery!! A big thanks to Karl for helping me get the
huge mother off the ground.

Also a bigs thanks to Andreas and Peter for looking out for me on the
road... One day I won't need it!! (I hope)

Thanks to all those who organised the weekend away especially our
revered president. Can't wait til the next one!!
