I have 2 pairs of leathers for sale.

The first is a Dianese 2 piece. Not sure what type it
is but the colours are black, silver and a orange/red.
They have sliders and have been worn only a few times.
The size is 52. I am 5,10, 78kg and they fit me nice.
They are going for $350 dollars.

The second is a older, but still in good nick and a
size 48, Dianese 2 piece again.. Its black, orange/red
with yellow piping. No sliders with this one. I can
just fit in these! This one is going for $150.

I now ride a BWM GSA so I wear offroad type gear,
thats the reason I am selling them.

One thing thats not bike related. An Epiphone Gibson
Les Paul sunburst orange copy, together with practice
amp, case and stand is on sale for $350 dollars if
anybody is interested.

My email address is Mickreas@... if any of
the above interest you.........

I would highly recommend staying overnight at Walcha, there is a motel
and a bike freindly pub,( I stayed there last time as the motel was
full, they even provided a lock up garage for the bike!).
I have done the Oxley twice now both times leaving from Walcha first
thing in the morning heading for the coast. Made the stop about half way
through at Gingers Creek for breakfast (Fantastic food!) and then
continuing on from there. Both occasions were at this time of year and
leaving at about 6:30am I encountered no traffic and very little
oncoming traffic either. The road is demanding and long, I think it
would be better to tackle when fresh and rested ;-)
This is one of my all time favorite rides (nothing compares to the
moment you pass the sign that says "40km winding roads"), beautiful
countryside too.

Wish I could come,
Cheers,

Peter (VFR750)

At this time of the year best to avoid both the New England and Pacific
Highways as far as possible - How about Bruxner to the New England and then
Thunderbolt's from Uralla down to the F3 Freeway ?

Highly recommend the Oxley it's an excellent piece of bike road. Would
anyone here be interested in either a weekend run up Thunderbolts, across
the Oxley and back - stay over night to keep the Ks down per day, or
alternatively an "iron butt" ride - 800K day and do the whole thing in one
hit ?

Oh, and -6 in Armidale ? Must have been a mild winter :-)

Minus17 in Bendemeer this year (and I doubt Armidale was any warmer). Year
before last I was on the TRX for a run up to Briz - it was -9 at Bendemeer
at 7.00am (July), had to use metho to get the ice off the mirrors, a couple
of hrs up the road it was 26 in Ipswich.....a pretty huge difference !

I had forgotten about the Mooney Mooney servo - so you're quite right.
Commercialising that area further is, as I said, something I wouldn't like.

The petition is in the cafe, next to a plan of the development. You'll
remember there is a servo at Mooney Mooney ... do they need another? Plus
Berowra is so close!

Sarah

I hadn't stopped there since the new ownership - but I'd heard about it.

I'll sign the petition, if only because I don't think I'd like the area
commercialised.
I don't think I'd agree with the 'our road' policy though.
I wouldn't have thought there'd be sufficient demand in the area for all
those
facilities - although a petrol station would be handy.

I take it the petition is in the cafe?

Hi all

Who of you has not had a pit stop at the Mount White cafe? And for those
of you that have been there recently, you'd be aware that the business has
new owners and vast improvements have been made to the food and the
seating (not to mention a couple of friendly guys - Max and John - who
make this all possible). Max and John even plan to upgrade the
"facilities" this year, to make your mid-ride "wee" more comfortable.

Well, the company that owns the land behind and on either side of the cafe
is planning an ambitious development including a caravan park, tavern,
restaurant, grocer, fruit shop and service station. Max and John's cafe
will be left intact, but possibly space for motorcycle parking may be
greatly affected, together with the fact that many more cars will now want
to stop and to use OUR ROAD!!!

Max and John are asking that as many people as possible sign a petition to
help persuade the local council not to approve this development, to keep
the cafe and its surrounds in its current unique state. I have signed
this petition, and I encourage all of you to do so too. Max has even
thought about bringing back biscuits with coffee!! Only a thought so far
though!!

Let those guys know you care, as they are motorcycle friendly and we
should all help support this business that cares about us!!

Sarah

Hey guys

Come home via the New England ... take the Bruxner highway from Lismore.
And if you want to make it even more interesting, then come back from the
New England Highway from Tamworth to Port Macquarie via the Oxley. I
haven't done the Oxley, but it's meant to be one of the most beautiful
roads in NSW (and fun). The bruxner is divine - Lou Audova and I did it
in June (forget Armidale in winter ... -6 degrees with ice on the bike in
the morning!!!). It'll be hot though.

Then from Port ... find a back way to Taree, then take the Bucketts Way
from there past Gloucester until you hit the Stroud Road before Stroud
(craig and i did this yesterday)- only 1km of dirt - many potholes but fun
roads, no traffic and no cops. The yuk part is Maitland to Cessnock, but
then come home via wollombi (or do singleton and down putty to windsor!)

Have fun ... wish I was there!!

Hi everyone just wondering if anyone is still planning on doing this
ride? I have just got back from a spur of the moment ride which took
me from Cootamundra to Gundagai, Tumut, up the snowys to Cooma then
down to Bega on to Eden, then while trying to find some accomodation
ended up in Nowra before finally getting a room. Would have pushed on
to Sydney but it was late I was wet and just wanted to hit the sack.
So if this ride is still planned be prepared for a rough time trying
to find accomodation down the coast road (just that time of the year)
Hope you all had a great christmas and have an even better new year

were all thinking it was full of pot heads and hippies. Well at least that
seemed to be the case last time I was their.

Nahh half ya luck guys, all I got was 4 days in Brissy (well I got outa Syd at
least) and an empty wallet resulting.

Lloyd Penn has a blue 99 ZX-9 that he is looking to sell. It has 17,000 kays on
it and I think it's due for rego soon but it looks fairly clean. I think he
wants $8.5K for it. I'm pretty sure it was smashed at some stage but not badly
and Lloyd repaired it, basically it's a case of it's a sound enough bike for
Lloyd to have his name associated with so I wouldn't imagine there'd be any
worries about bent frames and what-not.

If you are interested then give Lloyd a call on 9906 8488 though I don't think
he's back till the 6th.

Hi everyone,

On behalf of Bikers Anon, the committee, and everyone who's come along to
something, participated in our chat group or just lerked around....

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!! Hope that 2003 is a bonza one for you... and brings you
many spunky sexy bikes and has you successful in all your persuits!

Have an excellent one, a safe one.. and if your drink.. then DRIVE... don't
ride.. (better protection) or better still, laze around, sleep it off then roll
home! After all, one can't be too careful!

If there's anything happening New Year's eve, we'll let you know. Also, the new
events calendar for 2003 will be officially be released soon - we have 3 months
of excellent events in the pipeline, so stay tuned! Remember, Jan 2 is Nix
night! 104 Willoughby Rd Crows Nest. $20 for a good meal.

Also, I'd just like to take the opportunity to say a special thank you to the
committee. Without you guys (particularly the long stayers.. Sean, Robyn, SJ,
Soph, Rob, Cindy... and newbies, Tom, Chris, Grant, Gry and Graham) the group
wouldn't have gotton off the ground. The time and energy you spend chasing
things, people, organising the web-site, chat group and on the road is
phenominal.. The group is what is because you make it happen.

Thank you. Kisses,

Louise.

Ohh dear, hasnt anyone twigged yet that Wakefield is a 250cc track. All these
big bikes running wide and off the track at the corners cause they cant be layed
over fast enough.

Rob, stuff using the SV, bring the CBRR and whip their buts, lol.

Straight line speed means nada if you cant carry it through the corners.

How 'bout Wakefield Park on the 5th?

We can see how much slower those girly Suzukis are than the mighty Honda
Spada!

   :-)

big (well, my Spada's red, its _bound_ to be faster than a *yellow* SV,
right?)

Merry Christmas Everyone,

I am going for a ride on Boxing day down to Robertson and back as I
have just got my bike back. Was really disappointed not to have
finished the ride due to a small accident about a month ago. If
anyone is interested in joining me please call 02 9712 5390 or e-
mail me back.

Have a great Christmas and New Year.

willing to double anyone interested (under 70kg) on a setout route. Or
something to that effect. I'll put my hand up for it.

Hi everyone,

Have you ever wondered how we could possibly do this?
Do you have any great ideas????

... reason I ask is because I am kicking off another
community project (last one was the event ended up
creating Bikers Anon) for a program I'm involed in,
which I've chosen to be focused on "GETTING WOMEN INTO
MOTORCYCLING".

At this stage I've got lots of ideas.. mostly along
the lines of an expo with stax of bike related
businesses having trade displays - like a number of
recent shows, this time focusing on women (but not
strictly limited to) as the target audience, PLUS a
schedule of funky events that would educate and would
motivate women to sign up for their L's on the spot..
or even buy that sexy little aprilia!

ie:
* HART demonstrating what's covered in the L's and P's
(ie.. anyone can do it)
* fashion parades (ie.. Trinity racewear, Black Max,
Waldon Miller)
* basic mechanics
* riding training courses available
* bike clubs (ie.. Bikers Anon, GRO and other cool
groups)
* RTA on positive stats and bike friendly roads and
friendly getaways
* Police on good pick-up lines (just checking you're
reading this)
* bike shops on what bikes and accessories are good
for learners and available payment schemes, etc, etc.

Have already got a couple of good industtry contacts
ready to advise.. but it's really people like YOU who
could make this work. To get this going, I need
enthusiastic people with great ideas and energy to
shake things up. Lets face it, we'd all like to see
more women riding..

If you're even mildly interested, please come along to
the first meeting to express your ideas and maybe
bring some contacts, etc. I plan to schedule this
event late Feb/ early March date and venue still TBC
(but fear not.. will be working around bike mag
publishing dates).. but as with all sizable events, we
need to start early in order for it to really work
which ultimately needs feet on the ground.

Monday 30th December, 6:30pm for a 7pm start.
Upstairs Beer Garden
The Willoughby Pub
Cnr Penshurst and McMahon Rds
Chatswood/ Willoughby.

Please email or phone me on 0402 976 067 if you plan
to come so I know to expect you. If you have any ideas
that you think can't wait till then or questions at
all, please also call me.

Love to see you there!

Lou Audova.

P.S If anyone would like to forward this on to other
bike clubs of contacts, please do. The more great
people involved, the better.
