well, that was a non event for me, snapped clutch cable going
into the servo!
Thanks Graham (yellow Daytona) for trying to help a fellow
Triumph rider, hope you got back to the servo in time to start off.
I got stuck in Macdonalds at Caringbah for a while until I bought
some multi grips and had a long white knuckled ride home -
Manly is a long way from Caringbah riding like that (trying to
judge all the traffic lights along the way)!
better luck next week!
Hope the ride went well for everyone else.

Hey all - might be better if we meet at wahroonga and go down Ryde Rd
all the way to the princes highway. DaveZX9R tells me it'll be quicker
than going down pennant hills rd/cumberland then to alfords point rd -
apparently that's the long way round.

You guys willing to meet at the shell at wahroonga instead? If not I
guess Michelle and I can still meet you at penno

Er, just in case this doesn't make any sense to anyone. I am
currently over in England on my hols (for the next month) and have
been telling my brother all about you guys, also showing him the BA
site which he has taken advantage of!

Its beautiful and warm over here in England - well not right now as
its 3:15am and I can't sleep! - but the shorts are out and I've
already seen heaps of bikes out and about on some of the great back
roads they have over here. Just too much traffic and not enough nice
weather in general!

Hope you are enjoying the cold and happy riding - I'll be raring to
go for the oxley weekend....

Regards
Tamzin (& Marmalade whose packed away in a garage at the mo!)

Fellow Oxley Enthusiasts,

The MotoOxley database has grown to 28 entries. That's 10 more than what
I had envisioned and 250% of the last MotoOxley ride attendance!

I have re-shuffled our bedding arrangements so all entrants can come
along, and everyone can stay at Jase and Maria's excellent BnB in the
Wards River Old Heritage School House!

I'm not quite sure how well a group that size will travel, but we'll get
there. It's been done before....

The BAD news is, that the guys at the Walcha Caravan Park had only
'penciled' me in for the cabins I had booked, and since I hadn't paid a
deposit (was told that has to happen one month prior to visit) I lost
one of the cabins, and now can only accommodate 22 people in the WCP.

This means, if your entry in the database is 23/18 or higher, you'll
either have to take a tent or organize your own bed.

As it happens, there's the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Golf tournament in
town at the time of our visit, so much of the other accommodation is
booked out. If anyone has alternative suggestions where the remaining 6
people can stay, or if anyone of the FIRST 22 database entries wants to
cede their spot, please let me know.

I'd appreciate if ALL participants could email me personally (off list)
to CONFIRM their attendance, as I will have to make deposits on our
accommodation NEXT WEEK. You won't have to put down a deposit, but be
sure that I'll let the air out of your tyres if you chicken out :P

Please consider the database CLOSED for further entries.

See you on the road,
Phil

Anyone know if Arrow exhausts are in Sydney, or even in Australia so I can
get the equivalent done on my Firestorm, or do I just have to go to an
independent such as Crash Test Eng? Unfortunately it doesn't appear to have
any baffles so I guess it'd fail anyway.

Hello boys and girls.

I just got home from Mittagong and I definitely recommend the trip down to
Staintuneif you have their cans fitted
They use their own manufacturer's lable with Staintune Pty Ltd printed on them.
They also do a noise test with and without the restrictor in place.
They'll engrave the sticker with the test result with the restrictor in place.
Attach one sticker to each muffler if you have 2.
They also put all your details and test results into their register so if a
sticker ever comes off they'll engrave some new ones and send them out to you.
All for a bargain price of $ZERO with a freindly handshake at the end of it.
Standard system noise test on my Hayabusa is 93.5Db at 4900rpm
Staintune system with restrictor in place is 91Db at 4900rpm
Staintune system with restrictor removed is 94.5 at 4900rpm.
He also advised me that you can actually refuse a roadside noise test of the
grounds that the conditions aren't appropriate for an accurate test result and
long as you go to a testing station where in the mean time you can refit the
restrictor even though mine came out only 0.5Db over the legal limit with the
restrictor removed.

cheers...manny

Hmmm, think there's two of 'em. But if it is who I think it is, then
service improves a hundredfold if you talk directly to the workshop

However, generally easier to just go somewhere else ;-)

On arriving at work yesterday I noticed I picked up a bit of metal in
my rear tyre causing a flat. I was nearly due for a new rear tyre and
the hole couldn't be plugged as it was like a long-ish slit. I rang
Dominic in the workshop at Cycle City Blakehurst and he organised one
of his staff (Michael) to come and collect the bike within the hour.
I finished work and picked up the bike from the work shop all ready
to go with a new tyre with no charge for the pick up. They helped me
out big time with little or vertually no interferance to my day.

A BIG THUMBS UP TO DOMINIC AND THE CREW IN THE WORKSHOP AT CYCLE CITY
BLAKEHURST.

PS: - I rang another mob at Kogarah and they said call someone
else....like thanks to them for nothin....

Hi peoples.
I've called Staintune about having my bike testeded and stickereded and I'm
heading down there today but have to be there before 1pm.
Anyone else with Staintunes who'd like to make to trip down to Mittagong can get
back to be my 10.30. It's about 45 minutes ride from the Cross Roads.

Either email me or call 0419 637 074..

Cheers.... Manny

Hi all been a while since I last caught up with you guys. I have
been living in Darwin for a while now nearly 6 months, Just got back
from a trip away with work and hab the old girl serviced and took
her for a great run out the road to the fantastic open speed
limits......hmmmmm fun fun fun, but onthe way back I stopped for
fuel and noticed a crack running the full circle of one of the
original exhausts on the old girl and after checking the other and
finding it is beginning to go the same way thought I might see if
anyone has ever seen or even better been involved in changing the
exhaust system on one of these??? Would love to hear how it was done
and what brand pipes were used. The original exhausts are kind of
hooked into the fairing (hard to explain) but looks like a hell of a
job to put on anything but originals,,,,, any help will be greatly
appreciated

Scott

I'm not sure yet (from Gosford).
I may decide to sleep in rather than trying to get up earlier enough to
leave before 8. Yet to decide.
