It seems jokes are only acceptable in the Sydney Knights emails these days????
Racist jokes are out there to be laughed at and nothing else..... Some tend to
get bit offended when it's aimed at their particular race but laugh when it's
aimed at others.. Some poke fun at their own race... NO BIG DEAL...YA GOTTA
LEARN TO RELAXXXXXXXXXXX..

Hi All,

This isn't aimed at anyone in particular. Just putting my 2c worth in.
I don't usually get involved in 'debates', but lately I've had my mail box
chock full of just total and utter crap!
I'm deffinately a 'new' member and enjoy the group feel that BA offers. And
'yes', I am only an L plater.
These days it seems that all I read every morning from BA posts is slagging
matches. Very wierd for a group that enjoys riding, which is supposed to be
thereputic and enjoyable.

I mean, come on! A few jokes here and there between 'mates' (be it in good
or bad taste) shouldn't have every man/woman and his/her dog running to
beat someone down..

Think I'm gonna go onto the daily digest email for a while.

I dont know about the Powers but I hate the Sports.
I loved Diablos on my F4i but im not as keen on them on my Gixxer.
I also liked 208's on the F4i when they first came out but they wore
out very fast (about half the km of the 207s it came with!!!)

Ill be looking for a new front tyre myself very soon. Ill probably
try the BT014's unless i hear something special about the Pilot
Powers.

Brodie,
Tyre choices depend on your bike, your riding style/exposure, and
personal preference. A tyre on one bike may be really good, on another
it may behave differently. If all you do is twisty weekend rides you'll
want something soft - longer commutes and you may want a mixed compound.
So it may help to give us a bit more info on your bike and what you're
looking for.

I've heard decent things about the grip of the pilot powers when run on
ZZR600's, but as expected they don't wear all that well, though not as
bad as some. But that's a compromise you make.

I've found the Bridgestone BT-020's to be a really good compromise for a
commute. Pretty damn good in the twisties - I haven't had them feel
loose - and good mileage too. I've gotten 8000kms out of both front and
rear and both still have life left.

Now before I get bagged for providing advice with only 2 years riding
experience I should say that I make up for it doing more km's than the
average 'new' rider (40000kms in the last 10 months). With that many
km's I've gone through alot of tyres and have thus found the BT-020's to
be an excellent solution for both freeway and OPH trips.

Yeah, the oroadsports guy came off just before the ZX10R. The
photographer Deeno was getting him water and making sure he had a
break before he rode off again.

After we picked up his bike and mounted up to leave the ZX10R came
by, so we were just 2 minutes behind him and came across his crash.

The photographers are riders themselves and do take time to talk
with you and help out. The pose element is still there when people
go through their turns but Deeno said in 3 years he never had a
stack on his corner (until last Saturday).

As for MotoPix corner we would have to ask Geoff about that.

I heard the same story as you Darren. You never know what is being
circulated (Chinese Whispers).

Either way it is a good lesson for all about lending your bike out.
The otherside of that is if you borrow one, make sure you can pay
for it if you break it.

That aside I hope Gavin recovers quickly and there is no permanent
injuries?

Secondly, how is Luke going with the insurance company as that was
an expensive bike (as far as Jap bikes go)?

Reminds me I need to get mine insured.

Jamesy

Hi peoples.
Does anyone know where to get fork tubes for a reasonable price?
I just bought a wrecked VFR750 in need of new forks and fairing.
The wreckers I've contacted so far don't have any and I was told to expect to
pay $750 for a good set..
I have sourced an place in UK that has new fork tubes for $570 deliveres to AU.
Hoping to get parts rather cheaply to make the project worthwhile.

Cheers...Manny

I stand corrected.
My most humble appologies to anyone I offended. It was not my
intention to hang shit on anyone, just highlight the fact about
loaning people your pride and joy, especially if they seem to have a
reputation for crashing.
I'm sure Luke will think twice before he hands over the keys again.

The actual facts about the mentioned bikes, The Mv had been purchased from the
shop he was working at, but the owner of the shop had failed to transfer the
rego and other information at the time of the crash, so it went through the
shops insurance and was resold from that same shop, not a write off...
The silver GSXR 1000 was owned by this gentlemen and was being ridden around
eastern creek by another party and was crashed turn 4, smashed every panel and
tore the right foot peg out of the frame, bike total loss with no insurance and
was sold privately.
Yes he was riding an orange ZX10R at the old road that he had borrowed from a
friend and came off, Sustaining compound fracture of his left upper arm (ulnar)
requiring two pins, right ankle and metatarsals on the same foot mashed, massive
bruising from the Armco, and a few small lacerations from burns through his
leathers.

If you wish to shit can someone for a mistake, make sure you have your story
straight.

Clearly you must be perfect to judge someone in this manner.

From what i understand this is not the first time this guy has
written off a bike. I think it was mentioned before that the guy on
the orange zx-10 didn't own it, It was a friend's bike. Apparently
he has also written of an MV, again not his bike and a GSXR,
   surprise surprise, not his bike.
(I think the MV was a demo from a shop he WAS working at)

   Moral of the story
-Don't got nuts on somebody else's bike.
-Be very careful who you lend your bike to, if anyone at all.
-Keep it real when riding on the road.

   Just my thoughts
   Darren

They come off easy as if you heat them up with friction - a good example
is a 300meter slide down the twisties and onto the gravel.

Seriously, another good product for removing gum type glue is to use the
orange stuff (but clear in colour, orange to smell) - named something like
"removeit".
