The next Canberra IA Canberra meeting is this Thursday, 24 September 2009.
At this meeting, Stephen Holmes will be speaking about Guerrilla Knowledge Management. He describes the topic as follows:
"As is the case with a lot of Information Architects, I have several hats, ranging from Information Architect to Interface Designer to Technical Writer to Trainer and once I even found myself as Lead in the development of a company’s knowledge management portal.
In much of my job my need to find a way of capturing and then disseminating technical, sales, marketing and legal information in relatively small but dispersed teams lead me to try and find ready to run open source software and straight out of the box commercial solutions to match my requirements.
This talk is about what I’ve learnt and a few ways of attacking the problem under the radar or knowledge hoarders. This methodology works well with Rapid/Agile type projects as it is a document and capture as you go kind of way of working."
We also hope you’ll join us for an informal dinner somewhere in Dickson afterwards.
