Computer Learning is a voluntary community based 1-1 computer education group pairing computer skilled people with those desiring basic computer skills in preparation for self directed computer operation and group computer course involvement
Computer Learning uses the intensive instructional framework of paired individuals where computer operational procedures are individually developed & deliberately practiced in a best-learning-practice situation aimed at developing initial skills & confidence in the novice learner to promote future structured skills acquisition
Learners are encouraged to practice independently between learning sessions
Computer SKILLS targeted for learning include:
* Mouse manipulation
* Hand to Screen Mouse control (e-Solitaire)
* Web Browsing & Searching (Google)
* Web E-mail (Yahoo)
* Web Typing instruction (learn2type)
LEARNER objectives include:
* computer operational skills acquisition & development
* building self confidence & self reliance in computer operations
* virtual & real socialising using e-mails and social computer based groups
* developing a functional & enjoyable self motivated computer practice routine
TUTOR objectives include:
* teaching skills development including assisting memory challenged learners
* procedural & interpersonal communications skills development
* discovery of personal community/life skills
* cultivation of higher study interests based on the tuition experience
* exposure to productive intergenerational social activities
The Computer Learning programme is conducted at supervised computer facilities supported by:
