I emailed to find out info from DTE people, and this was the reply:

'ConFest usually starts on the 27th December and continues for 7 days.
We are unsure of the location for New Year but all will be anounced on the
Website closer to the event.'

Hope this helps. I don't know that this is definate...and i have been lead
to believe the site is often open a day or so earlier...just thought i would
pass this on anyways :)

Hi everyone,

Does anyone have confirmed dates for the New Year ConFest?
We know it's from a few days before New Year to a few days after, but
would appreciate finding out the exact days that the site will be
open for arriving so we can arrange days off work in SA.

Christmas and New Year are on Sundays I think so are we right in
guessing ConFest will go from Thursday 29th to Wed 4th?
