Through the plants and animals that nourish us and the rains and the oceans
that flow through our veins: We are the Earth. We are human animals, related to
all other life as descendants of the firstborn cell. We share a common history,
written in our genes, and a present and future that is filled with our
uncertainty.
Within the Scenic Hunter Valley, REGEN (not-for profit) embraces the
opportunity to host the 'Power Plant' festival with space to sow a new festive
seed of hope, action and celebration. The time is present for us all to relate
and restore balance within an ecosystem.

Come celebrate over 3 days, spread over three stages with a buffet of audio,
visual and performance stimulation. Alternate activities to entertain the senses
include:

Kundalicious café: Vegetarian delights to feed the hungry masses

Market Village: Everything from fresh coffee, hot food, funky clothes and
jewellery, environmental products, services, workshops and an Outdoor Cinema!!

Healing Space: Natural healers to soothe muscles and minds.

Yoga: A Saturday morning yoga session will limber the masses for the day of
planting.

The most important event of all will be a mass tree planting to help
regenerate the land. Revegetation will take place adjacent to the festival
activities and has been selected in order to reduce salinity and erosion issues
on the property and to create an area for native animals to feed, shelter,
reproduce and live harmoniously with human animals.

A turquoise lake will accompany us during this spring weekend, making all
forms of celebration juicier.

Come share, create, get down, and get your hands dirty.
Plenty of camping space, showers and amenities.
Easy access (just off the New England Highway).
All ages welcome.
No pets or fires.

Bring your drinking water, boots, gloves for tree planting, sunscreen,
swimmers and smiles.
Presale Tickets: $50 + bf (available through moshtix) and benny 0412363930
At the gate: $70
Day pass; 8am - 6pm: $20

Festival Objectives

The objectives of our events are three-fold:

1. Environmental Remediation and Rehabilitation
A key objective of the events is to conduct a full day of broad-scale native
re-vegetation works in order to rehabilitate a cleared or degraded area. It is
recognized that bush regeneration activities often involve small numbers of
local volunteers which are not often capable of undertaking significant
regeneration projects due to a lack of numbers. It is intended that a
significant re-vegetation project be undertaken at this event, fully utilizing
the large number of participants.

2. Education, Awareness and Community Participation
Another key objective of this event is to promote awareness and the
prioritisation of environmental themes within our lives. RE>GEN delivers open
invitations to environmental groups to use the event as a platform to promote
sustainable living, in harmony with the environment. The music festival
encourages people to attend and promotes an atmosphere of celebration whilst
simultaneously developing widespread community involvement with their immediate
environment through bush regeneration.

From our experience, bush regeneration volunteers have characteristically been
older people with an interest in preserving their local environment. We believe
all ages, including young people, are interested in the environment, though they
have limited knowledge or opportunity to participate. Through combining the bush
regeneration with celebration and entertainment, we provide people who wouldn't
generally participate in environmental remediation activities with the
opportunity to become involved. Therefore, whilst achieving environmental
objectives, the event will also achieve goals of community education,
involvement and enhance public relations.

3. Showcasing Artists and Building Relationships
A third objective of this event is to showcase music, visual and performance
art from Australia and abroad for the benefit of both the artists and the people
that participate. In doing so, RE>GEN supports the wave of up-and-coming artists
and simultaneously feeds the insatiable appetite for good positive music and
art. RE>GEN also wishes to build a positive, supportive and ongoing relationship
with Traditional owners, LandCare groups, land holders, environmental
organizations, Artists and the general public, to ensure that similar events may
be held in the future.
