Hello everyone

I'm heading up to Confest from Melbourne, and would love to share a
space with someone in their car, providing some petrol money and lots
of stories! Yeah, stories!
Can be picked up from just about anywhere interesting in Melbourne

Dear Human Runners,

Sadly, I will not be able to teach 'Rob's Run' at the Deni' confest this
Easter. I have been asked to return to Kenya to work with a group of runners up
at Iten, on the escarpment of the Rift Valley.

I was there in December and one of the athletes, Augustine Choge, won the
5000metres at the recent Commonwealth Games in Melbourne. He and a few others
from our camp are running in the World Cross Country Championships in Fukuoka,
Japan, tomorrow (April 1st).

These beautiful runners have fewer life opportunities than we do so that is
where I need to be. Thanks for all your warmth and support at previous confests.
You can still track my movements and get in touch through: www.robsrun.org

I hope to make a return at future gatherings.

  Rob

Hi All
From: sydneyconfesters@...

*****************************************************************
*****************************************************************

This is a final call for anyone that wants to buy a ticket for the bus
to
Deni Confest.

Imagine: One day busloads of ppl from sydney, nsw and beyond will be
travelling to deni, assisting them to access an experience we know can
be
life changing.

*****************************************************************
*****************************************************************

Points to note:
- There is no Anzac Day Sydney Confest this year, hence us organising a
Bus
to Deni.
- If you haven't booked AND paid for your bus ticket your booking is NOT

confirmed.

We already have one small bus full, however, if we get enough people we
will
be able to get a bigger bus.

What does a bigger bus mean?
- Even MORE comfortable of a trip and more fun with more people going
down.

So spread the word.

Pls answer the following questions:
a) do i have the contact ph number/email of someone who i think will be
going to deni confest this easter?

If you answered 'yes, for sure!' then pls read on.

Ph, txt or email your friend/s to see if they are interested in
travelling
to deni by communal bus.

There are ppl who have not opened, or even received notice, that there
is a
bus. moreover, the best form of generating support is through personal
contact.

Notify them of the benefits: safety and ease of travel, atmospheric
journey,
creating and consolidating friendships, environmental considerations.
Tell
them the details: April 13th-19th, max. $100 to be paid by by the
weekend.

////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Bus leaves Sydney:
13th April from central Sydney @ 8am (arrives at Deniliquin around
5pm)
Bus leaves Deniliquin:
19th April from outside Deni site @ 10am (arrives at Sydney around
7pm)
Cost:
maximum* of $100 return
////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

a
good chance your seat(s) won't be booked and will be allocated to

easier):

line.

wikipedia, anyone can jump in & contribute.
Many look at wikipedia to find out info about this or that. So why
not do one for Sydney Confest!

To edit, become a member, then click at the top of the page "Edit

make sense in 10 or so seconds. It did to me, I have no idea how to
edit a webpage. But this was a sinch.

Thanks everyone

I read your e-mail with compassion for your mother and yourself.

As a suggestion you might like to look into the Gawler Foundation for an
alternative approach to a cure. www.gawler.org <http://www.gawler.org/>
!

I have attended one of their Living In Balance courses and learned to
appreciate their approach is the best for me and possibly the most
holistic.

I wish you and you mother well

It is with worry and not a little bit of fear that I am writing this.
My mum just told me that the doctors found a growth in her uterus. It
bleeds and sounds like it could be a malignant tumour. An operation is
necessary to remove the growth. It seems like she had been feeling
unwell for a year now. She was forced to go to the doctor due to the
pressure of a friend. If that had not happened, I don't know how long
more she would take before the situation worsens. The operation itself
is estimated to cost quite a fortune, far beyond our means. It might not
even be enough with Medisave. I have to admit that I am frightened and
scared. I don't know how bad it is because she pushes me away when I try
to ask her about it. It does not help the situation at all. I understand
she is worred and scared as well, and maybe that's her way of coping
with her fear. But I wanna do something. I can't just sit back and not
do anything. I'm definitely gonna send distance Reiki to her every night
when
she sleeps. She doesn't know about this, but I'm gonna connect with her
higher self. And I'm also gonna pray for her as much as I can, affirming
her perfect state of health. And I'm asking you to please pray for my
mum's health. For those of you who are healers, please take some time to
send her healing light and love. I need your help badly.

   Thank you so much

Hey everybody

To allow this group to stay focussed on Confest attendance and travel
there, and not bug those who just want that stuff with other stuff, I've
created a Google Group for Confesters who want to discuss or know about
other stuff.

Here are the essentials:

* Group name: Confestivity
* Group home page: http://groups.google.com/group/Confestivity
* Group email address Confestivity@googlegroups.com

Description: Anything of interest to Confesters, and I mean that in a
seriously hippy clothes-optional earth-conscious global-fire-twirling
land-rights-for-gay-whales way ; )

If I've got it right, to join, you just send an email to

Confestivity-subscribe@googlegroups.com

I may have to restrict membership soon in order to limit spam-bots
joining, but 've set it unrestricted intially to encourage all y' all to
join.

Andorra seek dancers for 'Baxter' EP live TV performance

Hi everyone,

Joel here from the Sydney band Andorra. Art Resistance TV are doing
a segement on my band's new EP, whose title track is a protest
against the treatment of refugees in Australia.

As part of this they are going to film us performing live in their
studio and we would like anyone interested to come along an
participate.

The studio performance (on Sunday Feb 25, at 2pm in Turrella) will
be to one of our other songs, as the show will have already shown
the film-clip we've made for 'Baxter', as part of the show. But
nevertheless, any support you can offer us by showing that protest
music can be lively and fun would be welcomed- and will strengthen
the chance of the segment getting good airplay.

Email us at andorra_the_band@... to let us know.

Warmth

Joel. www.andorramusic.com.au

Andorra is a political rock band that organises shows and events

Not sure what the common subject matter of this group is..but anything to do
withy Confest sounds pretty dam good to me..I am the old fella at the house at
Bylands..spend a lot of my time mowing grass and planting native trees on the
property..with the direct seeding done on the place a couple of years ago..we
now have about 450 new trees that were not there before..I find that exciting..
starting in April have a 100 grey box trees coming each month for 3
months..some of the grey box trees on the site are magnificent and are up to
300 years old..well thats all about me i guess..I am looking forward to with
this site meeting new people and sharing ideas etc..

Is this judgmentalism ("it was a serious fault") really what we want to
have as part the Confest ethos? As far as I am concerned, there is no one
with the authority to shoot anyone down in flames. As far as I am
concerned, that is not Con-fest... "with-festivity". Please, let's be free
of judgmental or harshly critical stuff here.

I appreciate all the good stuff done on this list, and by all the Sydney
Confesters, and such efforts as Daniel's to improve our confest
experience.

There is no misunderstanding. It was a serious fault to (1) push a new
group duplicating existing facilities thereby causing even more confusion
than existed already and (2) using the existing group to promote the
duplication.

There are many more thing to be done that are being left undone than for
efforts to be directed to duplicating.

Hi Benny and Everyone,

I totally appreciate what you are saying. Totally. I love staying on
this list just for the feeling of being at ConFest again. No way did
I want to create confusion or diminish the power of this list. It
keeps me connected to a vibe that I love. I wanted to give something
back. I wanted to make car-pooling more efficient and work better for
us and the planet. There are almost 200 people on this list but there
are 1000s that come to ConFest. I'm trying to think of - and then
build - more efficient ways of matching people. So, I thought, rather
than spending our precious time trawling through non-relevant request
and offer emails we can be out playing in the woods!

But just to be clear and avoid misunderstanding, Freewheelers is not
a chat group system like this ConFest group. There's no discussion on
Freewheelers. It's very boring in fact. It does one thing only.
Assist in matching people going the same direction. Freewheelers is
boring but efficient.

Oh, what can I do? I'm trying to build tools to assist people to be
more efficient in doing the boring things so we can all have more
time doing the fun things - and spend less time on computers. I'm
bursting with ideas and have much energy to implement them. So, help
me help you. What should I do better?...

Contact me off-list if you want so as not to create any more
confusion...

Love Daniel

PS That would be fun! ;-)
PPS The links to ConFest's website were up there from the moment I
added the events into the database. Please take a look and let me
know if I can do it better.

That looks like a really good idea Daniel. More people are likely to sign
up for lifts and follow the responses if they don't have to wade through
non-lift-related discussions that may not appeal (or simply don't compete
successfully against the many other demands for one's attention).

I have followed the link and signed up.

Hi Benny, Frazer, Nirvano and Everyone,

It's great seeing the ConFest buzz on this list. Even though I'm hold
up in the UK, braving the freezing temperatures, I feel warm inside.
I had a great 2 ConFests last year and hope to join you for more soon!

I've been working hard on my car-pooling, lift-sharing website,
Freewheelers. I've just added in Australia! So, please feel free to
use it to help arrange your car-pooling. It works quite nicely and
you can see lists of who's coming from / going to where. I've set up
some already:

Or you can see them all by going to:

You can also add your own events. So, go ahead!

Please give me feedback to help me make the site work better.

Happy ConFesting! Gee, I miss the steam tent! ;-)

Much love and hugs,
