Following on from last week's excitement and Farmer Dave's departure
our four remaining couples head onto the dance floor tonight which
will lead them down the road to the Grand Finale. Tonight things will
really get serious – which couple will be having their last dance?
Suave host Daryl Somers introduces co-host, Sonia Kruger, stunning in
a bold tartan-inspired gown from Myer, and the Dancing with the Stars
esteemed panel of judges - Todd McKenney, Helen Richey, Paul Mercurio
and Mark Wilson. Each couple is introduced while anxiously waiting to
perform the routines they haven't performed before in this series
along with a group routine.
The night started in dramatic fashion when Fifi Box tumbled down the
stairs during rehearsals, taking her partner Paul Green with her. "He
said we were in this together and I took him quite literally," said
Fifi. They were carried off set and rushed for x-rays to assess their
injuries and determine if they could compete.
Up first tonight was the cheeky Home and Away star, Tim Campbell and
his partner Natalie Lowe. The couple once again thrilled the studio
audience, the judges and fellow dancers with their sexy yet classy
cha-cha routine.
Scores: Todd 9, Helen 9, Paul 9, Mark 9 = 36
Kate Ceberano had joined Dancing with the Stars for one main reason,
to dance the tango, and tonight she got her chance. The sultry singer
and musician, dressed in a royal blue frilled frock and her partner,
John-Paul took to the floor for with an emotional and dramatic tango.
The judges and audience were impressed by the couple's choreography
well-suited ballroom routine.
Scores: Todd 8, Helen 9, Paul 9, Mark 9 = 36
Sashaying onto the dance floor next was environmentalist and
horticulturalist Jamie Durie with his striking partner Amanda Garner.
The couple brought an old-fashioned vibe into the room with a slick
Foxtrot routine. The judges were impressed by the couple's improvement
and serious attention they've given during rehearsal.
Scores: Todd 8, Helen 8, Paul 8, Mark 8 = 32
Despite a tumultuous tumble down the studio stairs in rehearsals
earlier in the day, Fifi Box was given the all clear by medical
advisors and with modified choreography and pain killers, she and her
dashing partner Paul Green took to the floor with a Paso Doble
routine. The judges were inspired by the gutsy effort and remarkable
choreography considering the routine was altered as a result of the
earlier accident. Fifi wished her dance did not include so much
stomping on her injured ankle.
Scores: Todd 8, Helen 8, Paul 8, Mark 9 = 33
A spectacular surprise was in store for our audience with a live in
the studio performance from the delightful Dannii Minogue with her
latest disco-inspired new release 'He's The Greatest Dancer'
especially for Australian audiences.
Another surprise for this evening was a Viennese waltz undertaken by
the all the Dancing stars at the same time! What a spectacularly
elegant effort from everyone! The costumes, the wigs, the makeup, the
music, the jewellery, the frocks, the white stockings on the men - we
were all transported back to the Royal Courts of Europe in the 17th
Century!
And for the seventh elimination episode for this series, just who will
be the next star to rest their Dancing shoes? In nail-biting moments,
our hosts gradually revealed which couple would be dancing again next
week and sadly, Jamie and Amanda's journey has finished.
The final three celebrities vying for the title of Dancing With The
Stars Champion are singing sensation Kate Ceberano, Home and Away
actor Tim Campbell and radio sweetheart Fifi Box.
