Daniel MacPherson joins Dancing With The Stars in series eight as the
new host of the popular primetime dance spectacular.
Growing up in the Sydney beachside suburb of Cronulla, MacPherson was
discovered while competing in the Kurnell triathlon and was
subsequently offered the role of Joel Samuels in Neighbours.
Since making his mark on Neighbours - for which he received a Logie
award for Most Popular New Male Talent in 1999 MacPherson's career has
criss-crossed the globe and several genres with leading roles on
Tripping Over, Blackjack (with City Homicide co-star Aaron Pedersen),
as well as hosting The X Factor and presenting on National Geographic
Presents.
He moved across the world in 2002 to take on a role in the musical
'Godspell', alternating the lead role. Upon completion of the show, he
was offered the role of PC Cameron Tait in the long-running British TV
series, The Bill.
After being nominated for the British National Television Award for
Best Newcomer in 2003, MacPherson starred opposite legendary actor
Edward Woodward on the stage in "The Mysteries" in London's Canterbury
Cathedral to rave reviews.
In 2007, he relocated back to Melbourne from Sydney to take up the
role of plain clothes detective Simon Joyner in Seven's smash hit
crime drama, City Homicide.
