Chong Lim - Blog

Hi everyone!

I'm sorry I haven't been attending to my blog lately. I've been a
little busy putting on the finishing touches to David Hobson's new
album (just released) "A Little Closer" and David Campbell's new album
(to be released) "Good Loving". Also completed a version of "Santa
Baby" with Kate Ceberano for this year's Myer Christmas Album.

And...another reason why I have been busy is that I have finally done
an album with my orchestraI have been buried in the recording studio
with them recording sambas, quicksteps, foxtrots, waltzes, pasos etc,
having the best fun I'm really really excited with the result, it's
really a fun album that will hopefully keep you all happy and
toe-tapping through summerIt's scheduled for release in the next
couple of weeks so watch this space! Some of the songs include
"Tequila", "42nd Street", "Fran & Scott's Paso", "In The Mood" and
"Dance In The Old Fashioned Way"! Hope you enjoy the Cd as much as we
did making it

Also, the last couple of weeks have been pretty demanding on the show.
I had to put in the extra hours to really get the music ready for
"Star Wars", "Phantom Of The Opera", "Fran & Scott's Paso" and "4
minutes" for the cast of "Burn The Floor". Last week's show (Episode
7) has got to be one of the hardest I have ever done in all the series
of DWTS that I have been involved in! I have to thank the band for
doing such a great job with these really difficult pieces. The brass
section was particularly tremendous on "Star Wars"!

To top it all off, our fantastic regular lead singer Rod, had to go to
Germany for work, so we had to get our new singer Steve Wade
acquainted with the job, and I must say, he did it brilliantly! He is
a singer and musician of the highest order, and we're really enjoying
his contribution to the show. This week, we're also welcoming another
new singer, Andrew de Silva (of CDB fame), who will be singing a few
of the numbers, and of course, our gorgeous Michelle is still here
with us.

I was saddened with the departure of Henry and Toni last week. They
were one of my favourites on the show for not only their amazing
dancing capabilities, but also for their friendly nature. They will be
sorely missed, but that is the nature of the competition. The talent
is so good this year that one slip up could cost a couple the chance
to advance!

Anyway, I'd better go off to do more work on the next show. We do have
a few surprises in store in the next few episodes, so do watch out for
them! Until then, keep the questions coming and I'll try to answer
them all

Until next week, happy dancin'
