Let me know if you have any questions, it was the best thing I ever
did to that motor.

One things for sure, it's a nice part of the world with plenty of beach houses
to rent which cuts the costs down.

   Looking forward to it!

Jayne, will the early Falcon scene have an annual nationals from next
year or is it going to slowly dissapear. It has gone from an annual
event to...well you would know the story. I am more that happy to run
an event each year if this is the case. I am still looking at holding
an XK-XP and possibly XR-XY Falcon Show 'N Shine in March/April next
year in Valla, NSW mid north coast. I will be looking into it in the
coming weeks, and if I have enough interest I will go ahead with it.

Hey mike,
It is a Redline performance rocker cover.I am told that there were many
made, but you dont realy see them. The alloy rocker cover is the one to
get though, much, much harder to find than a 2v which may not be as
rare an item to find going of ebay at the moment!
I have been developing a multipoint fuel injection with supercharger
set up for one of my 221 2vs with honest john, looks awesome, the
polished inlet came up unreal. Hope to have it running within a few
months but that could turn into six, but then again six is equal to
8,in time and performance, its just the computer price that is holding
up the urge.Anyway, anyone doing something radical other than another
v8 early falcon at the moment around the traps?
Cheers brendog.

Hi Brendan,

What brand rocker cover is on that motor? Looks fairly modern compared the
Ford Performance rocker cover (which is more rounded on the edges)...

Cheers,

Hey guys,
I have listed a 2v head on ebay if anyone was interested, as you know
they are an excellent addition to a 221. This combo is a sweet fit in
the early falcon.
cheers, brendan.

From what I can gather there are different facias on them based on the

Hi Bob, I'm guessing that the paint code reads XXA if thats the case
then the green you need has a color shade number 05004. This is a
Dulon color number so your local PPG supplier should be able to mix
you some up.

G'day fellas,

my name is Bob and I have a couple of XL Wagons, one registered and
one as a restoration projet. The registered one has front discs, 221
motor and 3.2.1 rear end. Its a bit of a heap which is the way I like
it - as far as I know it's always been registered, still has its
original rego number. It's the poverty pak model (144 - manual box) -
factory delete everything - only one key lock (drivers side).

The restoration project is a deluxe model - 170, two speed auto, which
brings me to my question, I have been doing some research and have
decoded the Vehicle Identification Plate for the paint code. It was
originally Guinea Green with a Merino white roof- can anyone let me
know how I can identify/find the right shade Green so I can repaint it
the original colour as at the moment its light blue.

cheers

Bob

I have a book that shows the XP Falcon/Fairmont as having 14 inch wheels
with Disc Brakes, essentially it's a copy of the all the sales brochures for the
first 25 years of the Falcon, your'e welcome to borrow it, if it will help
proving to those boofheads that it's not a modification that needs an
engineering certificate.

Failing that I am sure if you approached Ford Australia they should be

From memory there's 2 potential places, one is obvious and just on
the right hand side, above the water pump, where the block and the rocker cover
meet.

The other is right at the back near the firewall on the bottom
right hand side (if you were looking into the engine as you open the bonnet) of
the engine itself, need a torch for that one.

               That's where I found most.

I have a book that shows the XP Falcon/Fairmont as having 14 inch wheels with
Disc Brakes, essentially it's a copy of the all the sales brochures for the
first 25 years of the Falcon, your'e welcome to borrow it, if it will help
proving to those boofheads that it's not a modification that needs an
engineering certificate.

Failing that I am sure if you approached Ford Australia they should be able to
straighten the whole mess up.

From memory there's 2 potential places, one is obvious and just on the
right hand side, above the water pump, where the block and the rocker cover
meet.

The other is right at the back near the firewall on the bottom right
hand side (if you were looking into the engine as you open the bonnet) of the
engine itself, need a torch for that one.

         That's where I found most.
         hope that helps

Back, when I was involved we had 5 clubs keen on doing
the Nationals, now it is only 2, but I still can't see
why it should have come to this, why can't the 2 main
clubs do it year about, yes it is hard work, but it
dosn't have to be, I did the Dubbo nationals vertuly
all by myself, I had a bit of help from Ben Holt and
Gary Newcombe, it can be done. As for the club thing,
I would still be in the club, but it got to money
hungry and not giving back to its members, thats not
right and quite a few big name members from NSW left
because of this reason, sorry if I have upset a few
people with my comments, but its how I feel and it
upset me alot to see such a great club go that way.

Deon,

I guess we would all love to see an annual Nationals but as Darren
said, it's hard work. I don't believe it will disappear because I am
all for raising the profile of our cars and getting them out there
and seen by all.
The more people that become involved and join in a Club, the better
the chance of being able to put these shows on. There are plenty of
the old girls (cars, not me) out there and if everyone supported us
and came along whether they are in a Club or not, you would have
some magnificent display.
(And it's not just for the "show cars" either, all stages of
restoration are encouraged to participate)
It's the Heritage of the Australian Car that can't be left to die
out.

I am sure that Vic will come up with some cars for March/April, just
keep us informed and we'll mark it on our calendar.

We are also looking for Sponsors.....anyone out there???
