Hi,
Our xp is striped and waiting of a little
bit of welding, and then a quick spray of the engine
bay so I can get the engine (xf 4.1) back in. Can
anyone tell me the min. cfm and receiver size of a
compressor to spray a car?

G'Day
Try and convert the file in Microsoft
Paint it is a standard appilcation for windows. Just
open paint then goto open in paint choose the bmp file
once its open in paint goto save as and click on the
file format, one of the options will be jpeg change
the name so you can find it and there it is.

Has anyone done to xf steering box conversion,
which bolt holes should I change? I can only bolt one
inat a time and the others are close. I know that I
have to sleve the new bolt hole and get the xp pitman
arm re croxed.

I believe the boys at ASR mag did this conversion, so you could get back issues
from them if you like.

G'Day are you sure that its the tail shaft
hitting the floor, exhaust hitting the floor due to the
motor torque is a similar and you can stop it with a
torque strap. It will stop your engine squirming around
during acceleration. The rubber engine mounts allow for
some movement. To make a torque strap use a turnbuckle
with eyelets at either end and bolt one end to your
block near the oil filter at the front of the engine
and the other to a bracket bolted to the chassis.
this will stop your motor lifting. If your sure its
the tail shaft, on the front try using spacers
between the auto mount and the c4 I've got 3x12mm
aluminium spacers to get close to the standard angle on the
tail shaft( I run at my lowest point about 100mm off
the ground). For the rear try lowering blocks instead
of resetting the springs, that way you can have an
extra leaf or two to stiffen up the rear. On the other
hand most ford 9” diffs were offset to the left I
believe and if the diff was cut the same amount on either
side it will be still offset, I don’t think the early
falcons had offset diffs. Please do not take my word for
it I am not sure, check it first. I’ll post a photo
of the torque strap. PS sorry about the photo
quality it’s the best I could do for a cold rainy
Thursday night swith no light.

Sorry I checked ASR and they used the original XP box and cut down the shaft. So
I still need Info on XF boxes into XP Falcons.

I fitted an XC manual steering box into my XM a
few years ago. I found that the top two holes lined
up with the original XM mounting holes in the
chassis but the lower mount on the steering box was level
with the bottom of the chassis. I made up a thick wall
sleeve, scallopped the bottom of the chassis and welded
the sleeve in place. I don't know how much different
an XF box is but I would imagine the mounting holes
wouldn't be a lot different. Being a power steer box, I
guess it has an extra mounting lug but I wouldn't think
it would be too hard to adapt. Good luck.

I am after information from anyone who can tell
me how to get all leaves and sticks etc out of the
vent box (cowl) below the front window on an XP
falcon. The best I can do at the moment is to take the
vent boxes out (on the inside of the car under the
dash) and reach my hand up through the hole, however
this doesn’t get all the muck out. Can anyone offer me
some suggestion without having to remove the cowl?
