G'day all, given my debilertating back injury of late I've had time to join
the group! yay.

the missus and I are currently restoring a 1965 xp deluxe sedan, just about to
construct our rotisseri (sills on the car need replacing). We're also managed to
score an xp wagon as well that requires a hell of a lot less work (or so it
seems until you get the guards off.)

anyway glad to be onboard and hope I can contribute in a semi-meaningful way.

Hi Craig, give the knobs a good soaking in soapy water, one dry you will see
whether they are worth using or not. The can be painted, a daily driver you
would wear through, but something you drive every now and then wont be a problem
as you rarely touch the knobs.
As for the ignition parts, I have complete new assemblies or a bit cheaper have

It's more important the the heater and choke are straight without kinks; then
wipe the inner wire clean on the ones you can pull out completely and to
lubricate them use dry graphite power. As for the cleaning the knobs, use warm
soapy water and a nailbrush.

Dennis Carpenter make the best; you can buy them in Oz from Classic Falcon and
others but with the price of the Oz dollar it will be cheaper and quicker to get
them direct from the USA.

When you fit them be careful not the strech them - Check out the WA Early Falcon
Car Club's website Restoation Hints

Called "Getting into Felt and Rubber"

Subject: [Early Falcons] Rubber kit for xm coupe

Hi there. I am currently in the process of restoring an xm coupe and was
wondering where is a good place to buy a coupe rubber kit from? Does anybody
know if the American 63 falcon coupe rubber kit fits the Australian XM XP coupes
or are they different? Any experience people can share on this would be great.

The standard 5 stud drums from the mid range falcons fit the XP commercialls,
not sure about the XL.
