The costs vary here in Oz, depending on the state, type of meeting
etc.

For a standard meeting in Victoria, I think the cost of entry to the
course is about $5 to $7, and a programme $2.

Unfortunately we don't get many at the track, which is fair enough
when you can go to a club or hotel and bet on the events and not pay
an entry fee to the venue.

The cost of entry does not deter people, though I am sure having free
entry would not make any difference to crowd levels.
