years since Affirmed wonn it,i don't know if you guys will get the

its a beautifull track one and a half mile track,the onley mile and a

Two feature races were held at Geelong last Saturday night, both
carrying a total purse of $100,000.

The first, for three-year-old filles was won by the top Syndey horse
Ashlees Babe, who is clearly one of Australia's best fillies at the
moment.

The interstate raiders collected the other event, for colts and
geldings, when Albert Kelly was successful.

The other highlight was the incredibly tough staying performance of
Sokyola, who has now won eight races in a row. He ran a mile rate of
1:55.1, a very fast time here down under. He was three wide with 1000
metres to go, before sitting outside the leader for the last half
mile, and fighting back powerfully when headed in the home straight.
The race was over a mile.

Victorian trainers Gary and Debbie Quinlan trained a treble at the
Harold Park meeting in Sydney last Friday night. They were a long way
from home but the lengthy trip was well worth it!

Well the tips did not do too well at Geelong last Saturday night. My
apologies!!

Ashlees Babe won, as did Invasions Pride, while Lagoon Lady, Regal
and Dominator Stride all ran in the minor money. Not enough to show a
profit though!

The costs vary here in Oz, depending on the state, type of meeting
etc.

For a standard meeting in Victoria, I think the cost of entry to the
course is about $5 to $7, and a programme $2.

Unfortunately we don't get many at the track, which is fair enough
when you can go to a club or hotel and bet on the events and not pay
an entry fee to the venue.

The cost of entry does not deter people, though I am sure having free
entry would not make any difference to crowd levels.

At the Meadowlands we get Racing From Australia via simulcasting,
but no harness racing,just your flats....

There are two ways to access past form of horses on the web.

You can use harnessweb, at www.harness.org.au/hw where you need to
print the application form and fax it off to your state for free
membership.

Or you can go to www.harness.org.au for the AHRC On Line section,
which is free, but it can take a day or two for each days results to
be uploaded. You just type the name into the box, and the horse
details such as pedigree and past performance come up. Its great and
really informative.

The files only go back to August 1, 1980 though. For further back
than that, there are year books, which some people have collected
through the years.

I am an avid trrots fan and not enough is done to keep the industry
alive, apart from formguides - so I look forward to sharing ideas.

horse form for various horses.
