A place to share insights into and ideas on parenting gifted children.

Gifted children experience their world in a different way to their age-peers and have special needs much the same way that learning-disabled children do.

A majority of members come from around Australia - in cities, towns and rural areas. The group also has international members from Indonesia and the United States. All are parents of gifted children, some are studying giftedness and some are teachers.

The group is not exclusively Australian and not only for parents: It is open to all, including educators, researchers, parents and other interested parties from anywhere in the world.

Example topics of discussion include psychological testing (IQ testing), early school entry, acceleration, bullying, heightened sensitivity, talking to schools, parenting gifted children, the reaction of friends and family to the notion of giftedness, online resources and educational courses - for parents, children and teachers.

With the strong Australian membership base, discussions on schooling are very relevant to the Australian education systems from around the states and territories.

An extensive public links section provides clear distinction between Australian and overseas links, with a separate section for links to Australian government policies, syllabuses and teacher development resources, broken down by state.
