Please advise me if you are interested in this position.
We are looking for a volunteer / intern (or potentially two) to work with us
over the summer. The successful applicant would be mentored and trained by
our two media advisors who are currently working on 1, 6 and 12 month media
strategies for Burma and the Australia Burma Network.
Our media advisors are:
1. Louise Perry, currently Media Advisor to The Treasurer of Victoria,
John Lenders and previously journalist at The Australian.
2. James Rose, speaker, commentator, media advisor, freelance writer
and editor for 15 years. Former Asia-Pacific editor for Ethical Corporation,
former columnist with Investorweb, former advisor to the Australian
Democrats, former adivsor to the Special Ambassador of the UN World Food
Program, current columnist with 'the Standard' (Hong Kong).
I have attached the position description and would greatly appreciate it if
you can forward the information to whomever may look after intern
placements, through the appropriate staff and student networks, or if
you know of students who would be particularly suited to this role.
(Additionally we are interested in students to work with us on our website -
which you may notice needs a bit of work! - www.australiaburmanetwork.org).
We encourage both undergraduates and postgraduates to apply. We realise that
it is the end of semester for students, however we are hopeful to find
someone able to take up the role, at what is, currently a crucial time for
Burma.
Thanks for your time,
