Sounds great
Any suggestions for other tests, details or data?
Regards,
Don't want to sound like I am from 'the Dark side' but
but motoring and motor sailing stats would also be interesting
Most trailerable multies have gutless little 8hp numbers
you are lucky if they give you 8kts
They are ok bloody efficient motor sailing but..
My ideal Multi will sail easily at 15kts+ and motor
at the same if need be
just be nice to have that option
This would be handy for those windless days
and bar crossings at some stage in the future
There are some areas where you can only sail
2 hrs either side of the tide and at other times
you are forced to motor down the channell
I have set my tri up so I can have two motors
one on a bracket and one in a well
Hope to do a few experiments at some stage this summer
8Hp on the bracket 15-25hp in the well
20hp on the bracket 30 in the well
8hp on the bracket 40hp in the well
Want to see if I can get it on the plane motoring
with only adding the extra weight of one crew member
Theoretically if I can get 15kts in calm water
and good manouverability you'd be able to smack
your way quickly through the heads while avoiding
breaking waves
bar crossing are a Long way off as
sailing is always the first priority
All the best for Tuesday and I just can't wait to see a HarryProa
Sailing in the Coastal Classic
Carrying on up to Cape Reinga and coming back down
the West Coast demonstrate a capsize recovery
and finish with a nasty bar crossing in through
either the Kaipara, Manukau, or Kawhia heads.
To be put back on the trailer in under 5 minutes
Some time in the Future
Regards
Matt
