good day

we will now
starting with your present harry proa rig
take a look at sail interaction

you have now 2 ! sails
one behind the other
and even though the main & jib
have hardly a gap in between them
I hear nobody weeping about the bad effects

this bad jib has
on this poor main behind it !

even though the jib
is not even on the keel line
but ahead to windward

now consider 2 mast sails
with a gap of 1 cord lenght between them

and ?

you have less a negative effect
on the rear one for shure !

then with your present setup

you may even get a bonus
from the increased flow
on the leeward side of the rear sail

like with a jib in front of it

then picture a small jib ahead of the first mast sail
then as you fall off a little
one on the rear
too
ever bigger ones on reaching
running

in all this rig discusion
we never should forget the fact
that we need 2 separatly controlled sails
to turn the fastest .....

regards fritz
