but could be on big ones.
Could you turn the sail until it is pointing into the wind and see how
stable it is, please. If you cannot keep it aligned with the wind
will it be difficult to reef, hoist and lower as the loads on the
tracks or whatever it runs on will be high?
My second worry is the shape. I have spent a lot of time tweaking
sails for optimal shape, and it is rare for this to be draft at 50% on
the front sail, be it jib or main. However, I have tried an ogive
(section of a circle) on a two way lee board and it worked well,
apart from it's narrow angle of usefulness. This may not be a problem
on a sail which can be constantly trimmed.
Well worth a try full scale, I think.
