Re: fairing methods

I've done quite a bit of fairing over the years but with poly/vinyl
products rather than with epoxy. THe work I have done with epoxy
fairing materials left me wishing I had something I could spray on and
had a uniform hardness each time I applied it. Fairing different
batches of epoxy bog reminded me of fairing plaster built up from
different brews - it jusy goes on forever. The different hardness'
cause you to sand in hollows everytime even with along board. In fact,
in some ways, the problem gets worse with a long board.
Does anyone know of such a spray on product that is epoxy based?

Otherwise , I have a polyester gelcoat brew I make up for surfacing
patterns for moulding which is bloody briliant - it doesn't let go
(styrene attack from moulding is extremely aggressive) and you can
sand it with ever finer paper and buff it to a mirror shine if that is
desired. It can be sprayed or rollered on.

If anyone is interested, I can supply details. There is still the
adhesion question, though, but I have some thoughts on the why's of that.
Cheers,
Jim
