This group, based in Australia, is for enthusiastic knitters and crocheters who would like to know how to donate their work to charities. Most of us donate locally to save on postage so we can buy more yarn! Our aim is to share with each other different charities to donate to and the types of items you make for them. Swap stories, patterns, ideas and work together to help those in need.

All members of the community are welcome to join and to nominate charities for the group and/or individuals to support. No charity is too big or too small for us to help. In fact the smaller the charity the better because they are the ones who struggle and survive mainly on the goodness of others.

For whatever you like to knit, crochet or sew I can find a needy body be it human or animal.

Clothing newborn to 4 years, beanies

THE FOOTPATH LIBRARY (Sydney NSW)
The most needed items are men's beanies and scarves in plain dark colours like grey, black, navy, brown, and some of them have big heads! We still have women's and children's items left from 2012 so don't need the emphasis on them this year.

AC.CARE (Anglican Community Care) (Waikerie SA)
beanies, gloves, toys etc for the homeless or people in emergency care. They would particularly like blankets/rugs - crochet we would like 25cm squares or completed blankets. For knitters we would like 8 ply wool 40 stitches and 80 rows for squares or a strip of 40 stitches and 400 rows with as many colour changes as you like.
