I would love to share my wonderful trip from Darwin to Broome.
Although it was something I will never forget it was tinged with
sadness as my dear mother passed away whilst we were at Fitzroy
Crossing. We did however have a celebration once we got back as my
sweet daughter present me with a beautiful grandson. I have made a web
page...I do hope you enjoy it and maybe give you some tips as well as
information on the many places we visited.

I have just joined this group ready to share my experiences during
two stays in Australia.
My town is sister city to Bayside, Melbourne and a group of French
people went there to visit our friends.
We spent five days in Bayside, discovering Melbourne and its
surroundings in 2005. From there we flew to Sydney and enjoyed a few
days there going up to the Blue Mountains.
Our next stop was at Ayers Rock ( Uluru ) before driving to Alice
Springs.
From there we flew to Cairns and the Daintree Forest, Kuranda as well
as a day on the Great Barrier Reef.
I was used to travelling to many places in this word, but found this
first experience fantastic so much that I came back the following
year, this time going from Cairns to Darwin. We couldn't go to the
Kakadu Park closed after the cyclon Monica. We drove through the
Litchfield Park instead down to the Katherine.
We visited the gorge and took a bus to Alice Springs. I wanted to
stay for almost a fortnight in this town of the desert where I had a
few friends to meet.
I really fell for Australia and as so sad on leaving.
I connect myself to the site of the Bojangles in Alice Springs, a
fantastic mean to keep in touch with the country love so much.
France is so far away !
I would like to go to Perh next. When, I don't know. But I am
determined and that's all that counts.

We have just come back from a trip up north. We went as far as Cairns
but were not fussed as one big town is the same as the other; however
we went into a lot of beaches between Townsville and Cairns and saw
some beautiful country. We both loved Cardwell and Lucinda. We spent
one night at a beach town called Bramston Beach and it was lovely; the
Motel there was small and comfortable with some nice walks. Another
night was spent at Cardwell with the beach a stones throw away. We
enjoyed the rainforest drives and went to Clump Mt national
rainforest. Beautiful. Lots for kids to see too and plenty of good
caravan parks. Anyone wanting a good holiday? Give the exy islands and
resorts away and go this way.

hello there,
i'm interested in travel/work/holiday..basically working for lodgings
and a wage with the aim of exploring the area when not working.  i'm
currently living in QLD (in a mining town) and am looking for
adventure.  any suggestions of places that offer work and accomodation
in QLD???? preferably coastal or national park areas.

hi all, i love our country and have travelled extensively.
my fav spots are all of tassie, especially west coast, central oz and a
place we go every year - yamba.

i hope to get some inspiration from this group and maybe inspire others
too.

Hi Sarah,

I have just come back from Hamilton Island in the Whitsundays and I
think this would be a great place for you and your family to go to.
There's the beach as well many of the hotels have their own pools, so
you can just relax and watch the kids at the same time. There are lots
of different bush walks you can do and I'm sure there will be lots of
native birds and wildlife that you will be able to point out along the
way to your children.  Of course you can go snorkelling and use the
catamarans - great fun for the whole family.  There are also spa
facitilities, mini golf, a driving range, tennis & squash courts and of
course its lots of fun driving around in the golf buggies too. I'm sure
you're family would love it there as its very family friendly!  Enjoy!!!

I am hoping this group can give me some inspiration for my next
holiday. I plan to take my family away for 3 weeks during the summer
holidays.  We don't just want to go to a beach. We would love to take
the kids to a place where they can do some activities, hopefully learn
something about the environment and native animals. And of course there
needs to be the possibility for my husband and I to relax and spoil
ourselves a little.
If anyone has any suggestions I would love to hear them!
