> Hi again,
Nothing complicated about the layettes. They are made very tiny to
fit 1-5 pound babies that are born too early to be able to live.
Usually there is nothing for a baby that small to wear. Often their
birth happens before Mom and Dad have a chance to shop.
Sometimes they are 'pouches' decorated with lace; or blankets,
sleepers or knitted, croched or sewn dresses. I like to make them
really special, because it will be the only 'fancy' dress the girls
will ever have.
I purchased a preemie doll pattern on line to be my maniquin, but I
never made a doll that small, so I joined the group for help [and
inspiration!] One of our adopted sons was a preemie...2 1/2 pounds.
[he's 6'2" now!] I also want to make cloth dolls in the Izannah
Walker style.
There is a Yahoo group called Project Angel Kisses Ministry that
explains it all....Maybe I'll see some of you there!
I'm enjoying a beautiful Spring day in Kentucky.
God Bless you all,
Linda
