RE: [nataschasdolls] New member

Hi Natascha,

These days my grandchild is visiting me, that’s why.

As for the dolls, I still work on Naja, the sister of Nanoq from John Nissen. But her head is not greenlandic as his, I painted a Nanoq head as Naja instead and I’m satisfied with her. Her cloth will take a lot of time.

After her I will make Molly, I bought the mold in USA in 24” because she is looking like my 6 year old grandson. I hope, I can get a satisfying result.

I have only 2 doll friends here in Denmark.

I saw the photos in our group, really wonderful ones. I’m trying the Bellissimo technique, but it is difficult to buy the necessary items, have to buy in the USA. When it arrives, many items are not included and no invoice – that is disappointing. “Bell products” is not easy to deal with anymore.

Are you able to buy everything in Australia?

I have never been to a doll show, you see, I love making them, keep them a little while and then I sell them or  give them away.

Sorry to hear about your mother. A shame, she gave up. My mother tried once, in my heart I have never forgiven her. A mother should not do that against her children.

I was selling fish to Hamburg Fischmarkt in my younger days, I was born in Naumburg/Salle (Thüringen – Eastern Germany) but when I was 12, we got away to Western Germany, and I lived in Delmenhorst near Bremen. When I was 19 I moved to Denmark.

Best regards,

Christine

Yes, these reborns are on top now. I took a lesson and made one, she is beautiful, but it is not porcelain, and when I look at my daughters old vinyl-dolls, the loose colour and look bad. So I prefer our porcelains.

I sure will make an album, when I have finished som new. Some of the dolls, I have made you can see here: http://www.barkenti n.com/dukker/  . Made them years ago.

I own only one antique doll, and I will enclose a picture of her.

Are you satisfied with this embroidery sewing machine? It could be interesting for me too, but I have no knowledge about them.

I own a lot of patterns for antique dolls outfit, if you need, send a mail.

Mach’s gut

Christine

Hi Christine, welcome to Australia on dolls, you are never too old!  This is great. I started this group cause of what I believe the dollworld dying!  I have been in it for over 30 years and am disappointed what has happened.  Is it the same where you are?  Anyways I like modern dolls too but not until I went to the country hideaway did I see a beautiful set-up with the Antique dolls that I have never forgotten! I used to think they were ugly till then. But it was like fairyland!  But she had modern ones too they were so real as to the old ones! What ones are you working on and how can we help? love to hear and see an album! I am actually working on Angela, I have bought an embroidery sewing machine top of the range and am working on an outfit I bought my no.1 daughter when she was little. I am only at the stage working out pretty colars...... Natascha

Hi,
I'm Christine from Denmark, an old girl 64 years old and dollmaker. I
like the modern dolls most.
Hope to learn more and to help with what I know.
Christine
