Welcome to the Northern Beaches Astronomical Society better known as NBAS. Established in November 2001, NBAS is made up of people with a wide range of interests in Astronomy, Cosmology, Planetology and Beach Culture.
Located in the heart of Sydney’s northern beaches (Lon 151deg 10’E Lat 33deg 55’S) NBAS is ideally located to catch that perfect last twilight wave before settling in for an evening’s celestial observations. Regular meetings are held at various locale restaurant, where the latest in astronomical and gastronomical issues are explored. Dark sky locations around Sydney enable regular viewing of deep sky objects in conjunction with other astronomical groups.
So if you’re interested in keeping abreast of the latest developments in the field of astronomy or have been complexed as to how best to strap that 6” Newtonian reflector to your board racks, then NBAS is the Society for you.
