If you think you are getting heaps of emails from these lists,
consider the PTUA list which has about 2/3 of the members (ie 1/3
less).

On a typical weekday there are 15-25 messages on the PTUA list, and
while the OT lists were completely silent over the Christmas - New
Year period (25 Dec - 4 Jan), there were 123 messages on the PTUA
list, with 10 of those being on Christmas day.

Just be thankful we aren't on the all_aboard list (U.S. based rail
interest group) which has hundreds of messages a day.
